Description
(This ship is decommissioned, and will not be updated.)

Space warfare consists of several types of missions, and some of these can be accomplished by small but high-end flights of fighters. The 'Tormentor' carrier class is designed to transport, launch, recover and resupply a flight of four manned 'Raptor' Light Assault Fighters.

In larger assault operations it is deployed with one or two other flight carriers to create a full squadron fighter screen, although they will be dwarfed by carriers carrying squadrons or wings by themselves.

With its automated turrets it should handle attacks by enemy fighters and gunboats, but faced with larger warships it relies completely on its fighters for defense. In most cases the right course of action would be for the carrier to avoid direct confrontation and either quickly gain distance with its mass driver, or if necessary withdraw completely from the area with its jump drive.

While a 'Tormentor’ carrier is made to conduct indepentent operations, it lacks drones or other heavy-duty equipment for repair and resource gathering. It compensates by carrying a fairly large stockpile of supplies and a large contingent of mechanics engineers.

General characteristics:
-Crew: 24+2
-Length: 105 m
-Width: 52,5 m
-Height: 36 m

Armaments:
-Six gatling turrets

Features:
- Mass Driver which accelerates the ship to 104 m/s in 13 seconds.
- Jump Drives controllable from the navigator's chair.
- Hangar with four 'Raptor' Mk.IIIC Light Assault Fighters.
- The fighters each have its own projector which makes repairs much easier (Thanks to Whiplash141 for the idea!)
- Timer block that reconnects the fighters' connectors and landing gears every second, and deactivates when the hangar doors are opened. This is to prevent the fighters from disconnecting and slamming into the hangar interior during flight.
- Airlock which automaticly closes the doors behind you, making it easier to use.
-Dedicated ice container with sorter blocks, making sure the oxygen generators don't drain all the ice in creative and then removes it when switching to survival.
- LCD-screens showing damage reports, ammunition status etc. (All credit goes to MMaster and his wonderful Configurable Automatic LCDs script!)
- Automatic section lockdown when a leak is detected (All thanks to Mmaster and Morphologis for their Oxygen Lockdown script!)
- Pressurized compartments and functioning life support.
- Several solar panels, batteries and oxygen farms.
- Refinery and assemblers.
- Medical room with cryo chamber.
- Airlocks compatible with T.N.F. platforms and stations.

If you liked this ship, please rate!

Known issues:
-Text panels and LCD screens tends to sometimes show as "offline", and it seems to be a game problem. A temporary solution is to face away from the screen and then look back at it, it will then show correctly.

Fancy seeing you here GopeScope. I love your channel and the factions and lore you have created. That is why I got here in the first place, I am always looking for well developed factions like the T.N.F.

I agree, once a ship gets to a certain size, the total lack of crew who should be there to make it feel real and lived in becomes a bit emersion breaking.

Thank you very much! I've found that I enjoy the small to medium builds best. Most massive builds feels so empty when using them.

Nice design. I like the look and, to echo Marcelo's comment, that it isn't massive. Well done, keep up the great work!

I'm glad you liked the ship, thank you! :)

I love how you manage a NO nonsense design that has amazing looks. Most carriers out there are gigantic with such a large carrier wing that you would need 20 people just to use them. 4 fighters is a more realistic approach to player numbers in servers or co-op games. Very well made ship!
