David's Blackglass Sword

Description
My second mod, first weapon mod.

Adds a sword for one-handed players who like the Glass aesthetic, but need more damage.

Craftable at any forge and fully temperable, it requires the Advanced Armors & Glass Smithing perks (level 70 required) to smith.

Requires:
1 Refined Malachite
1 Ebony Ingot
4(?) Leather Strips

I hope to change the color to make it darker, but that currently exceeds my mod-making capability. If you know how to do it, please let me know.

Upon further review, i realized this thing is slightly OP, so i should give you a heads up

If I may make a suggestion. In following that tutorial, whether you use GIMP or photoshop, highlight the blade parts (or highlight the hilt parts and hit invert, if easier) and just desaturate. Put it back together and apply it to the mesh. Nifskope isn't a good indicator of final look, but when you put it into the creation kit, you should be able to get a glimpse of it with the appropriate shine. That will give you a benchmark for what just taking away color will do, makes it a little easier for estimating what a new color might do later on.

Here's a pretty good tutorial for dealing with normal maps. You'll need those more for armor, when you change metal to cloth, etc. It determines what shines, how shiny it is, and gives the raised effect for things like chainmail.

Idk...I just wanted to see what they'd look like without the green. Glass weapons are a bit harder to work with because they have textures beyond the diffuse and normal maps (outside my comfort zone.) I had no idea what they were, but I liked the iridescent shine it gave them, so I left well enough alone. :D

Warning: Once you start retexturing, you will abuse your sick time, forget to eat, be surprised by nightfall, and develop strange muscle cramps.
