Hardy abhumans, they excel at trade and war alike. They are fiercely loyal and hold grudges for millennia. Originally humans who set out for the stars long ago, they adapted to the harsh conditions and strong gravity of their homeworlds near the centre of the milkyway. Their empire was destroyed by the arrival of a Tyranid Hive Fleet which almost drove them to extinction. They now survive on isolated worlds, often allying with Humans to take vengence on the Tyranids and their bitter enemies the Orks. (40k Universe)
