Descripción
The Void Corp Technologies Heavy Utility Vehicle – W is equipped with two small ship welders mounted on a crane arm.

The HUV – W is equipped with the following features:

•Vehicle elevator system – timer activated to automatically cycle landing gear, raise/lower pistons, and activate undercarriage floodlights. When the vehicle is raised there is enough ground clearance for an engineer to walk underneath
•Spotlights: Forward, crane arm, and backup
•Backup camera
•Crane arm – enables grinding from ground level up to six blocks high. When crane arm is lowered, landing gear automatically secures it for travel
•A.S.S. or Automatic Stability System consists of artificial mass blocks tied to sensors which cause specific mass blocks to activate if the vehicle becomes unstable (e.g. starting to roll). Artificial mass can be turned on and sensors disengaged in order to use this vehicle without natural gravity
•Steering and propulsion provided by wheels only – no gyros or thrusters

Specs:

•Mass: 45,437 kg
•Triangles: 49,791
•Cargo capacity: 55,902L

hay mabey for your next build you should make a void corp ship yard :steamhappy:

(cont'd)

A likely easier alternative, though, is probably to set up the rotor at the front of the vehicle, and turn the entire crane into a piston system that can stand up from a flat position, and just raise the head vertically, like a forklift whose rails can lay flat. In fact...that sounds like a really good idea to me...

I suspect either of these changes would likely introduce balance issues, but by simply locking the vehicle in place when manipulating the arm, that issue is solved.

Unfortunately, I'm horrible at actually building things. I'm basically the opposite of how you describe yourself in the video, great at using things, horrible at building them.

I have a suggestion, but one caveat is that I must point out that my experience with rotors and pistons is rather lacking, because I rarely use them.

What would likely be a huge improvement to this design would be to add a second rotor at the head that operates in sync with but in the opposite direction of the one on the vehicle. This would keep the tools level so that you don't end up with only the bottom one being close enough to work.

It might also be a good idea to set up pistons to allow the crane to extend. What would be REALLY awesome would be if you were to somehow figure out how to sync up two sets of pistons, one in the arm itself, one on the head past the rotor I suggested, so that when you raise the arm, it automatically extends forward so that you raise it in a straight line.

Aaaaaaaand I hit the character limit again.

my idea is to have a wheeled vechicle and have serval of them connect to each other to from a base on wheels that you can take apart and rebulid some where else

what mod did you use for the gravity on your works?

Nice! I'm happy you're tailoring it to suit your needs - happy engineering :D
