cp_gothic

Description
A steel type map set in a castle that's in the process of being repurposed as a doomsday machine facility.

==============================================================================

This is a standard attack/defense style single stage map in the style of cp_steel. Capturing each point yields additional advantages to blue in regards to capturing the final point.
The final point itself is always active for capture, and doing so will instantly hand a victory to the attacking team.

==============================================================================

An original layout, inspired by cp_steel's gameplay, cp_gothic tells the story of a venerable castle passed down from the times of old from father to son, until the family fell upon hard times and had to sell the castle and its lands to an investor working on behalf of Zephiniah Mann.
The castle remained empty and unused for several years, except briefly as a European summer home that one year.

When the gravel wars began, Redmond decided it to be a fitting location to house one of the many doomsday machines of the TF2 universe. Of course, once word spread to the other team that the castle was being used in such a manner, Blutarch would have none of it. So he has sent his mercs out to recover the one time summer home, and put a stop to the doomsday weapon once and for all.

Alright idea, feels a bit standard in terms of gameplay though. I love all the different locales of the points.

I love the Steel variation of a/d, always such a blast trying to keep the opposing team from feeling too comfortable with their attacks/defences.

I love the theaming, and layout of the map, though the people I regularly play with, whenever this manages to get played, everybody seems to forget the previous times they played the map and gets lost.

I do hope it gets in some day. I have never though of this as a halloween map before though.
Then again, I don't think anyone on the community server knew either, so it has always stayed in the year round nomination pool.

@ShadowMan44 it's a 10+ year old map, i'm sure there are loads of more popular maps since then. but i appreciate the thought and glad you've enjoyed it :)

Nope, they didn't. Maybe next year.

Wonder if Valve would accept this to this year's Scream Fortress.

it's a tricky one to balance, and i probably could tweak more over time if it was being played to fine tune the balance.
the real issue is i just don't really have the time or really even the drive to work on tf2 maps anymore these days.
still i'm glad you enjoyed it :)

of course, its not perfect. the C point has a small clipping error, its kind of hard for red to get to E after D is captured, its kind of hard to cap D in general if red has an at least 1 engineer, and its pretty loud at E. still, 8/10, would play again.

once again, Valve does not add already finished maps that would be great for the community and are batter then a portion of the official maps.
