FPI Voortrekker Supercapital Industrial Ship

Description
Vanilla version, absolutely no mods necessary.

The Voortrekker-class Supercapital Industrial Ship (Blueprint version)

Designed for a crew in cryosleep to slowly accelerate to a significant fraction of the speed of light and eventually arrive at target destinations to set up preliminary industrial operations in advance of colonists or other forces.

Retrofitted Jump Drives made the long voyages the ship was designed for obsolete, but the mighty resource refinement and manufacturing capabilities of this ship kept it useful despite its age.

An Anvil-class shipyard facility is connected to the Voortrekker and serves as an outrigger thruster module during fractional lightspeed transit. The module can be disconnected and used as an independently functional platform, and the Voortrekker includes a dedicated laser communications system that attempts to maintain contact with the shipyard module at all times.

The ship itself includes a pressurized ship hangar (also the primary entrance/exit), manufacturing bay, full engineering section, laboratory, and a flight crew deck. The six refineries and extensive assembler arrays are fully upgraded with the latest modules, sporting up to 400% productivity and 150% energy efficiency on the main units.

While the spaceframe of the Voortrekker may be aging, its onboard computer systems are state of the art and include atmospheric integrity monitors that attempt to seal off sections of the ship that may be venting oxygen into space, as well as the Freya energy management AI and ship-wide data access to ship systems feedback.

A pair of Footpaw Industries Mark 2 automated mining drones can be found docked in the hangar and a Mark 2 "Longshoreman" tugboat is moored at the upper aft.

The programming blocks are running modified copies of these scripts:

Freya Energy Management AI
Oxygen Lockdown
Configurable LCDs

(You do not need to download these scripts from the Workshop to use the Voortrekker.)

Revision 2: Replaced piston-driven solar battery arrays with rotor-driven design. They shouldn't break off when mergeing the shipyard and capital ship anymore.

It might be a good ship but it's broken at recent versions of the game.

The solar panels always start to float in space, a reattach isn't possible, when i revert the velocity, it woudn't stop nor the "lock" command works

Also we can't dock off with the mark 2 tugboat, it sticks to the capital ship.

This looks incredible. :)

@Bone Jester: amen, they have two mechanical moving parts in the game and neither of them work reliably

yeah im hearing you, i gave up on pistons and rotors ages ago, such a shame they wont prioritize them as a fix.

@Bone Jester: Thanks! Currently reworking the retracting solar panels since the pistons keep breaking, just can't be helped until Keen fixes pistons I think.

Great work ! :)
