*starting zone - I used the Cimtographer Mod for real Highways and Railways thats the reason for the Placement of the starting zone.

Most of the Highways and Railways are placed with this Mod!
*pre-existing Highways, feel free to destroy :) I know exactly your Problem. There is a highway tunnel in Bergen but unfortunatelythere there is no way to place a Tunnel with the Map creation tool :/ That is the reason for the Highway in the canyon ...
*rare open space; yes the map has not many place ... This is a challenge!
*9 zones - I prefer 25 Zones but the map may also work fine with 9 Zones
at last sry for my poor english
*The starting zone isn't as cooperative as I would desire from a starting zone.
*The pre-existing highways are bound to be destroyed. The don't sit well within the terraforming, and could use cleanup, such as within the ravine/pass. The curves aren't continuous, and the straightaways are not straight. It doesn't look carefully placed.
*The starting highway connection/interchange is placed in a very inconvenient place, taking much of your best available open space to start with. The interchange's loose ends are laid haphazardly, not easy to connect to, like crooked teeth. The interchange also walls off a large, open segment of the original zone that has all the early farm land.
*Within the 9 center zones, 2 are 85% water, but that remaining 15% of land in each is highly desirable. Very unfortunate zone boundaries.
