Trading Adjustments

Description
Boarding ships over and over again to progress in this game got tiresome so I created this mod to provide a viable alternate.

I've increased the base value of all commodities which does two things. One, it makes the cheap commodities like food worthwhile to buy/sell in the early game. And two, it makes the costly product commodities worthwhile to buy/sell in the late game. Commodities which require a gas collector had their value increased the most to compensate for the extra effort in gathering.

Another change I made was slightly increasing the cargo space on a few ships. A good example is the Taurus which now has 75 cargo space making it a good choice for starting a new game as a trader or miner. Out of all the freighters and freightliners, only the Prospero's cargo size was increased as it would've been less worthwhile compared to other ships. For the most part, the freighters and freightliners should still be the best choice for trading, but now there are other choices if you want extra defense or can't find the stations that sell freighters. For non-freighters, the maximum possible cargo space is 300 with the Tzar, so most freighters still carry more.

Lastly, there's a new game scenario available that has you start with a Prospero freighter but it is not enabled by default since it replaces the regular Freeroam option. To enable this scenario you can install an addon mod here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=518804867 or rename a file inside this mod's folder to "NewGame.sgs". The default location starting from the game's folder should be: Starpoint Gemini 2\Mods\TradingAdjustments\Spg2\NewGame\

Note: If you enable the game scenario it might conflict with other mods which have scenarios like "The Trinity Wars"

ATTENTION DLC USERS:

I like the idea but I find more, worth while, to just hijak ships and sell them.

if installing this mid game it seems your game remembers previously visited price BEFORE install of this mod, which skews the bestbuy/bestsell UI. Solution seems to be to repay a visit to previous stations so as to update those

It's possible, but I don't know if it's worth it is since Warlords was officially released recently.

Hey Camus, any chance you could alter the amount of commodities that are stocked in each station? Like Birdy said already. Would make it possible to load up more on a couple of items for a trade run rather than buying out all of the stations inventory in large freighters!

Nope, stock values are the same.

Does this also increase the stock quantity of commodoties on stations? Kind of sucks buying to buy only 150 or so when having a 700+ cargo. :D

I see. Thx.

If you level too fast the game could become harder because of scaled enemies. In freeroam it's not a big deal, but it might make the campaign too difficult.

Hello, I'm new to the game and so far, I am super duper enjoying it. I wanted to trade from the start and learned that it sux rather quickly. However, capturing ships got boring super fast. I saw this mod and was like neat! But, ppl are saying it doesn't do well with the xp gain (or something like that, remember, new to the game). Should I get the mod if I'm new or will I ruin my experience w/the game? I guess I don't understand the problem with money being tied to xp gain. What happens when I lvl too fast? Also, love ur name. Camus is my favorite philosopher. :steamhappy:

It's an unfortunate side effect, but I think it evens out compared to boarding ships after around level 30.
