A variant of the Timberline-class heavy patrol craft, the AAL (Anti-Air Laser) variant is designed to take out light aircraft that are too fast for conventional armaments to hit reliably, all while keeping costs down. Two SkyMaster laser turrets provide full 180* coverage. The on-board AI will take advantage of this and try to keep the target within it's field of fire while racing to the target at high speeds. Because if the nature of it's targets, propulsion units are considered priority targets; after all, an aircraft won't get very far without their engines. Tested in many simulated scenarios, the Timberline AAL does it's job remarkably well. Limited shielding and LAMS provide some damage prevention, though it should remove any threats before they get a chance to even fire their weapons.
