The wielders of Starlyte and and Midnyte were actual sisters, and much like Northwynd's and Wildfyre's owners had been once upon a time, they were the perfect team. Starlyte's owner was concerned with law and order, while the mistress of Midnyte wore chaos about her like a cloak. When the law got in the way of what they believed to be "right", the darker one would step in, but if she took it too far, the dealer of blinding justice would rein her back in.

The light-wielder decided that, with the deaths of two of their own, their side of the story could not be heard, and she could only judge based on what she saw - that the third combatant had committed murder. However, without proof, she could not properly serve justice, and therefore she decided to do nothing.

That included doing anything to stop her sister from dealing her own brand of justice...
