Neo's Elemental Armorsuits

Description
Now, the only one left to confront the dark one was the owner of Sylexion. To match his blunt and heavy sword, he had crafted his own armor from hard, unyielding stone. His original purpose had been to protect the others, but he had failed. Now, his only choice was to avenge them. Could he be the immovable object to counter the unstoppable force of Chaos?

Midnyte's mistress tried to engulf the earthen warrior in a vortex as she had done to the lightning-wielder, but he used Sylexion's power to wrap the underlying earth around his own legs, merging his stony armor with the ground itself and preventing himself from being sucked in. The chaotic woman's cackling turned to a frustrated, almost feral growl as she willed the black hole to become larger and stronger, to no avail - Sylexion's master remained rooted to the ground.

As the black hole became more and more massive, the geomancer worried that it would eventually grow to absorb the entire planet. He only had one shot to end this. Guessing the force of the wormhole, he threw Sylexion to the side of it so that that sword would be pulled around it in an arc - right into the amethyst embedded in Midnyte's handle.

The two remaining swordmasters stared at each other for a moment, until the violet gem began to crack, diminishing the dark sword's power. No longer holding Sylexion, its owner had lost his power over stone, and the earth released him, finally sending him to his shadowy doom.

However, with Midnyte damaged, its chaos lost its hold on the dark one, and she regained her own mind, flooded with remorse for everything that had happened. She had known that Midnyte embodied chaos, but she had thought herself strong enough to resist its corruption. How foolish she had been!

But she now realized that Midnyte might not be the only sword with influence. Had the swords been drawn to people with certain personality traits, or did they instill those traits in those people they sought out? Perhaps Wildfyre had started everything, making its owner prone to outbursts of anger, which caused him to attack his best friend?

Consumed by grief, the so-called "mistress" of Midnyte allowed the vortex to consume her in turn, but not before making sure Midnyte went with her. The vortex closed, and all was still.

This is the legend of the original Elemental Swordmasters, but the legend also says that each sword eventually returns to the mortal plane to find a new master. The swords then lead their wielders to their artificially created brethren, the suits of armor to which they are now forever linked, and which belonged to the original Swordsmen.

But let users beware the power they wield. It is not the element which determines whether the sword is good or evil. The elements themselves are neutral, even chaos. But each sword has power, and so their users must beware the corruption that may result from it.

It's pretty much original, but I just realized that the idea of them all being friends who became enemies is sort of like the story of the four Hogwarts founders in the Harry Potter series. I'm pretty sure that's happened in other legends too though, so it's kind of a generic plot device.
