For this map I exported the height map from terrain.party and edited it will Wilbur to enhance the harbour.

You can find the textures I collected for use with the Terrain Texture mod in this album http://imgur.com/a/kwfA1

Fine road heights and configurable slope limit mods were used but are not required.

Background

Khor Fakkan (or Khawr Fakkan) (Arabic: خورفكان‎) is a town located along the Gulf of Oman on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The town, the second largest on the east coast after Fujairah, is set on the picturesque bay of Khor Fakkan, which means "Creek of Two Jaws". Khor Fakkan belongs to the emirate of Sharjah but is geographically surrounded by the emirate of Fujairah. It is the site of Khor Fakkan Container Terminal, the only natural deep-sea port in the region and one of the major container ports in the Emirates.

I used to drive past this place on the way to "Snoopy Island" North of Fujairah. The East coast of the UAE is home to some beautiful beaches when you need to get away from the bustle of Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Thank you for bringing back some memories ^.^

Very very nice! I have been trying to do a Middle East map with textures for a while. What's cool is that the colors change so much across the day. Mine will have that pink / light purple hazy color at sunset. I really like this cliff texture you have here, looks great! Adding it to the collection
