Gritty City

Description
My first LUT, but definitely not my last. This color correction adds contrast and texture to the rendered game.

In these screenshots, I'm using the vanilla game textures so if you don't use the texture replacer mod, then what you see is what you get. However, I do have the sunshafts and ambient occlusion mods active in these shots.

I noticed that the user who made the recent LUT's (Rocket something I think) made one called Tobacco - and I've noticed the AO/gritty stuff on those far less apparent. I'm not sure how he did, I dabbled with some LUT's myself and kept getting some weird shadow results. Not sure if it's the game or LUT, but after some tweaking I thought it was the LUT. I still get "dancing shadows" especially on pathways and roadways when the light is at a certain angle but that guy's LUT did something different to make it less apparent. Just was browsing through workshop sub's and saw this one, I know you guys addressed this a while back. :/

Interesting, I have those fine grit like things but on vanilla LUTs (haven't tried this one yet) and it's really noticeable on dark areas. I thought at first it was my eyes lol.. but anyway, to the point, very nice LUT flippity!!

@mgebauer293, I don't think there are any incompatibilities between any LUTs and After Dark. But because After Dark has slightly different colors, the results might be different than the screen shots. But the results will also be different from biome to biome (these images are on a tropical map, but an LUT will look different on Tropical than it does on Temperate, for example). The only way to really know what an LUT will look like for you is to try it out.

Is this After Dark compatible?

Hi Shroomblaze! I don't have a problem like the one in your image. I mean, when I turn on this LUT, I see the texture that's in the images above, but I didn't create that by adding noise. It was a combination of adjustments to the image, but it was mostly shadow and highlight that created that effect, and I didn't use any filters.

Do you get that noise on the default LUTs? Is it only happening when you use an LUT created by someone on the workshop? And is it happening only in this game, or do you see it in other games or software too?

That grit is actually the same problem I have, it may be your hardware because I wasn't getting it before but after my new computer setup I get it now. but it goes away on lighter colored luts....

Is this what you are talking about? I'm trying to figure out a way to fix the noise problem.
