Typhoon MRS-2 Death Hornet II RA 037M

Description
*If you enjoy this ship, don't forget to share it with your friends. That would be GREATLY appreciated!*

In short: possibly the best fighter ever.

Presenting the Typhoon Industries MRS-2 Death Hornet II RA 037M! This is a multirole space fighter that packs one hell of a punch. In fact, it's got three different types of weapon to allow it to take on any enemy, no matter how big or small. And it looks hella cool, too!

=Lore=
In 2063, the nascent Sol Federation governing the entire human race was in turmoil. Over the decade prior, the Federation had seen steadily increasing unrest as more and more worlds were discovered, colonized, mined and researched. Corruption was at an all time high, and for good reason: as the Federation's influence expanded, so too did their power, and this led many of the Federation's top officials to become addicted to personal gain. The politics within the organization became less about finding ways to further the human race and get them on a level with the numerous alien races that had been encountered, and more about who had the most money. Therefore the higher-up positions were slowly taken over by rich, sometimes elderly, politicians whose only goal was to become even wealthier, even at the expense of the people.

As this battle for financial and political supremacy was going on, the economy, which should have been booming, had tanked to such a point that, in many cases, colonies on frontier worlds either wound up starving to death or resorting to cannibalism, unable to pay for food. Indeed many had to rely on the benevolence of alien races just to get by. During this time, an alliance of rebels calling themselves the Revan Army rose up from the ice world of Revan, which had been on the brink of starving to death. They fought a few skirmishes with the Sol Federation Armed Forces on border worlds using mostly 15-to-20-year old technology, and they had lost every time. They needed something considerably more advanced than anything they'd had access to previously. A light but fast starfighter, capable of multiple forms of combat, to be deployed in numbers to overwhelm the enemy with sheer speed and firepower.

Coincidentally, the still-young Typhoon Industries had already released such a vehicle, the Typhoon MRS-1 Death Hornet, which went on to legendary status as one of the deadliest fighters of all time. After this, they began prototyping a larger vehicle, the MRS-2 Death Hornet II, which was set to replace the MRS-1 in Typhoon's lineup starting 2067. However, as the prototype MRS-2 was partway through its development, the design team got wind of the Revan Army and their fight against an unjust government - a viewpoint that many Typhoon engineers shared. Soon enough Typhoon shifted all of its efforts to first meeting with the Revan Army, and then working with them to develop the MRS-2 into just the type of fighter they needed to defeat the Sol Federation and restore peace. The MRS-1 had become something of a special target for the Sol Federation after a few of them had accidentally leaked out to pirates who then used them to singlehandedly destroy Sol Federation capital ships. As a result, nearly every Sol Federation ship had special software designed to detect MRS-1s through the unique identification number that MRS-1 weapons supplier ISM had given to weapons that were destined to be fitted onto the MRS-1.

As a result, it was quickly decided that ISM weapons would not be fitted onto the MRS-2 Death Hornet II, and instead Typhoon enlisted the help of two other manufacturers: the Czech Keen Space Engineering Corp., and the American T&B Ltd., who had developed a working (and very deadly) version of the KX9 laser cannon from Star Wars. The ship recieved two gatlings and two rocket pods from Keen, and on top of that not one, not two, but three KX9 cannons were also fitted to allow for precise mid- to long-range combat. A camera was then placed above the front KX9, which allowed pilots to zoom in on targets and place shots much more precisely - an idea carried over from the MRS-1 and its front-mounted 5.5mm RaK II HEKC sniper rifle. On the inside, a life support system could be found, along with a large central cargo container perfect for carrying both fuel and cargo at once. The ship was powered by not one but two Azimuth Industries fusion reactors, providing the brutal power required to support the ship's 75 thrusters, including the 70 RiderCorp Modular Thrusters which gave the ship its unrivaled maneuverability, as well as the 5 Azimuth BIG thrusters (three mainsail, two braking) in charge of forward and rearward movement. The result was a ship that, while among Typhoon's larger designs, was more maneuverable than the MRS-1, and had more dogfighting potential overall. Everyone who flew it loved it.

The MRS-2 was only sold to the Revan Army, and in light of this fact, the MRS-2 Death Hornet II recieved a special red-and-white-stripe paintjob to go alongside the traditional Typhoon black. Furthermore, in a more personal touch, the number 037 was added onto the top of the rear lateral thruster array on both ides, in commemoration of a time when the population of the colony of Revan had fallen from over a thousand to just 37 as a result of cold and starvation. "RA 037M" was added to the end of the ship's name, with the M representing the modular thrusters that gave the ship its advantage in handling, and the RA representing the Revan Army.

The Typhoon MRS-2 Death Hornet II RA 037M quickly became a sign of hope amongst not only the Revan Army, but billions of people who had been oppressed as a result of their wildly corrupt government. As soon as the Revan Army had their hands on the Death Hornet II, they were able to launch a full-on war against the Sol Federation, and combined with other advancements that they had acquired or been given, the Revan Army managed to win convincingly in a matter of months. The last engagement fought in the war, aptly, was a mainly aerial battle between the weakened Federation and the RA's fleet of Death Hornet IIs over the Federation's headquarters in Quebec, Canada. In fact, the winning shot was fired by a Death Hornet II, using a rocket to take out the last support still holding up the last of the Sol Federation's remaining government buildings.

Since then the Death Hornet II has become a legend. The Death Hornet II that fired the winning shot, as well as its pilot, had their very own museum dedicated to them, where the ship still resides today, drawing millions of visitors annually. There are many statues of Death Hornet IIs throughout human space, and the ship itself is looked on as something above a simple human creation; it's regarded as almost holy, and the many Death Hornet II demonstrations put on by what is now the Revan Federation draw crowds bordering on millions. Many people long to even see one, much less touch or fly one. If ever an inanimate object could be considered a hero, the Typhoon Industries MRS-2 Death Hornet II RA 037M would definitely be.
