Broadsword Mk2 M306 Variant

Updated and redesigned with new systems, L3 Engineering's venerable Broadsword assault transport is now even more mission capable in the new Mk.2 model with a new munitions delivery system that ensures the modular weapons pods receive a steady supply of ammunition. A new connector on the dorsal fin provides the Broadsword Mk.2 with in flight re-supply for extended fleet operations. An internal oxygen system can provide the flight crew and a squad of marines life support without having to rely on suit based life support. The Broadsword Mk.2 is also equipped with new communications arrays including the more secure laser antenna.

Designed with the concept of external wide angle of attack modular weapons pods in mind, the Broadsword Mk.2 is easily modified into weapons configurations to suit nearly any mission profile. L3 Engineering has made available four weapons variants that turn the Broadsword Mk.2 into a formidable strike craft for a wide variety of combat roles.

Officially, L3 Engineering lists the Broadsword Mk.2 as a transport, however Jane's Combat Spacecraft 2130 edition lists the spacecraft as a light corvette due to it's deployment by Mars Colonial Authority Defense Forces (MCADF) and other militias in anti-fighter/anti-materiel roles. Munitions not included.

Designed to help defend the Broadsword whilst delivering it's colonial marines to the target zone. The Broadsword M306 variant is equipped with two M306 gatling pods.

Designed primarily for anti fighter operation, the Medusa variant is equipped with two wide aspect missile turret pods.

Broadsword (Galahad)

The Galahad variant of the Broadsword has a hybrid weapons pod with front mounted gatling turrets for anti-missile defense and rear mounted missile turrets for anti-fighter defense. It is capable of engaging multiple targets simultaneously and serves as a compromise between the M306 and Medusa variants.

Broadsword (Longbow)

The Longbow variant of the Broadsword was made from the MCADF need for the Broadsword class ships to serve in assault and anti-capital ship roles. Six long range missile launchers mounted on two pods give the Longbow variant exceptional firepower for such a compact design. Boresight cameras are mounted on each pod giving increased aiming accuracy.
