Description
Alternate version without drones.

This mod is a large NPC cargoship mod that adds in an entire faction of new enemy ships. Players who use this will be able to fight everything from small escort ships, to frigates, cruisers, and even gigantic capital ships. These ships have been updated to call in reinforcements and will use all sorts of tricks to try and evade capture and take out the player. Small fighters and gunships will report the players position to summon drones to attack, and large ships will activate gravity shields and attempt to escape if they become heavily damaged.

I'll be continuously updating this mod as I refit more ships! Each picture shows the battlegroups the player can run into, which includes the main ship and any reinforcements it can call in.

As a note, ship mods like this unfortunately do not work on planets due to NPC ships being disabled. If you are having trouble getting ships to spawn, I recommend putting this mod at the very top of the mod list and trying a planet-free map,

Current Ships:

Escort - Lightly armed multi-use ship with 2 turrets. Can call in light drone support.

Frigate - Fast moving attack ship with 5+ turrets. Escorted by a fighter or defense drones depending on the tier. Fighter escorts will call in additional support to attack the player. If the frigate becomes heavily damaged, it will attemp to flee the combat zone.

Cruiser - Armed attack ship with 4 turrets. Escorted by two defense drones and a fighter. Can call in additional fighter support and will attempt to flee if boarded. Elite cruisers will spawn with better weapons, armor, and support.

Liberator - Heavy armored carrier battlegroup. Escorted by two escort ships and a small fighter. Will call in heavy gunship support when threatened.

Destroyer - Railgun equipped destroyer with many turrets. Escorted by elite frigates and a contingent of fighters which will assault the player. Once damaged, the destroyer will initiate a countdown before it leaves the battlezone. If it escapes, it will report the player's position and dispatch stealth frigates to kill the player.

Vengeance - Massive capital ship boss fight. Escorted by 3 extremely heavily armed cruisers that will assault the player. Will call in additional cruiser support when the player gets close.

Let me know what you guys think of this! Are the drones too weak? Too relentless? Too suicidal? Too fun?

The massive Vengeance capital ship is designed to be a sort of end-game boss fight ship. Make sure you are as prepared as you can be when you assault it, because it is extremely well armed and will summon an entire fleet to take out the player.

Update Log ==================

Update 1: Now features a massive carrier with heavy support.
Update 2: Now has 4 drone types. Light Drone, Elite Drone, Bomb Drone, and Drone Fighter.
Update 3: Now has an advanced drone fighter, and two drone gunships. Gunships are scary.
Update 4: UTC Vengeance flagship added. BOSS FIGHT TIME.
Update 5: Elite cruisers and their escorts added.
Update 6: Light Cruisers added.
Update 7: Recon frigate and scanner beacon added. Scanner beacons will search for the player after they cause a hassle for the UTC, if these aren't destroyed before they finish their transmission, they will spawn an assault ship that will explicitely attack the player.
Update 8: Destroyer and cruiser added. New drones and fighters added.
Update 9: Added self-destruct to escort drones, reduced boss fight chance.
Update 10: Vengeance will now open fire with its rocket launchers, call in more cruisers, and has an active security system.
Update 11: Cruiser fixed and cargo and mining ships added.
Update 12: Tweaked spawning frequencies so that rare ships spawn less.

This mod has received a major update! All ships have been updated with the latest blocks, armaments, and AI functionality, and they'll now spawn via the latest cargo ship system.

Unfortunately, Steam seems to have lost the download for this. I'll see if I can't find a way to get it to reupload.

The mod should be functional, I just tested it. I've created an alternate version that uses Modular Encounter Systems to have MES AI, and these ones will be updated to have the latest Keen AI and weaponry.

The UTC ships never fight back - its really weird. They seem really cool but kinda anticlimactic when i can just fly up to one and grind it up with a handsaw

Hi! This mod is awesome! Any chance the weaponry could be updated based on the most recent game update? Also, it would be cool if there was an immobile "station" that was even larger than the Vengeance using heavy armor and has a protecting fleet around it, for those of us that have been playing for a while and need something with heavy armor as a challenge.
