Yak Class Missile Frigate

Designed as an upgrade for the Waterbear, the Yak class is a capable vessel all it's own. No longer dependent on other ships for cannon support, sturdy shields cover almost the entire ship, and layers of metal and alloy provide armoring to handle just about anything thrown at it. Despite having no defenses against missiles or lasers, the Yak can withstand a considerable beating before being seriously damaged.

The Yak features 3x10 banks of vertical missiles (2 6-block, 1 7-block) and a formidable HEAP cannon. Ammunition is thoroughly armored deep in the hull, as well as the AI.

Refit your Waterbears or build new. The Yak is cheap, solid, and mean. It serves as the basis for the Auroch Class Dreadnaught.
