Boston MA

Description
In many ways, the venerable Yankee port city of Boston, Massachusetts has the perfect topography for CS.

It is relatively flat but is also a coastal city, with converging rivers and an intricate and uniquely picturesque coastline. It has numerous highway, rail, air and sea connections, all centrally located, and all converging on the city center.

This map has 3 active rivers, 4 highway connections, 4 rail connections, 2 air lanes converging over the site of Logan International Airport, and a sea lane that loops deep into Boston harbor, allowing you to exploit the city's extensive port sites.

Major highway and rail connections are placed as in RL, but stop at the edges of the 25-tile buildable zone. There is no transport infrastructure inside the map; that is for you to create as you wish.

Since roads in CS are so overscaled, the map is about 20% overscaled as well, to compensate.

The map uses Euro textures, as I find Euro the most realistic and visually pleasing of all the climactic zones, and because I created this map for a European-themed city I had in mind.

This map really is a handful, especially near the bay area, I couldn't get my metro line or a tunnel to go through, the slopes were to steep for a bay.

if the map isnt working for you (like theres nobody moving in/no cars on the roads) just go into map editor and connect the highways

I like this map the most, I always go back to this gem. The reason being, I can put my highways anywhere I want pretty much, and it could be anywhere other than Boston, which is cool

thats no problem. personally my gripe was simply the euro texxture. however i felt you had put more effort into natural resource, shipping and train lines than all the other boston map makers.

i had asked if it was possible to swap the texture before i researched and found out it wasnt easily swapped. so i exported the heightmap from your map and red did it in map editor with as much resources as i could

although i added interstates willy nilly just for the sake of having roads

Hi 4Poc | PiLoT
Thanks for the compliment, I'm glad you like the map so much. Actually I used Euro textures because there already were a number of Boston maps with US textures out there, so this was new. Unfortunately, you can't simply swap textures and resave the file -- you have to rebuild a map from scratch (and this is BIG shortcoming in the map editor) -- so I'm sorry but I'm not going to redo another.

@luis.g.caro
I just opened up the original map file in the editor and all connections are showing as active and unbroken, including the rail connection on the start tile. I'm not sure what is causing the problem with your cargo terminal; did you subscribe to any new transport mods/stations recently? Sounds like you might have a mod conflict causing problems.
@sbrownodowd Looking forward to it, thanks :)
