Tethered Wind Turbine

Description
Tethered Wind Turbine. Or the Gulper, as I like to call it.

Run out of free land?
Skyscrapers taking up every bit of your county?
Not enough open water?
Are tourists complaining about those advanced wind turbines covering every inch of your your precious (clean!?) surface waters?

Fabulous environmentally friendly tethered wind turbines do not ruin the view! (nobody ever looks up anyways).
Fabulous environmentally friendly tethered wind turbines create less noise pollution! (in a way... 1/5th of normal wind turbines over 3x the area)
Fabulous environmentally friendly tethered wind turbines create more energy per buck than normal wind turbines! (50% more power for 30% more upkeep, 0-12 energy for 104 per week)
Fabulous environmentally friendly tethered wind turbines have a tiny footprint! (just make sure you rotate using the right mouse button (click for digital, drag for analog), so the tether doesn't glitch through nearby buildings. Don't worry! It's surprisingly easy to fit in between some apartement buildings!)

512x256 Texture res.
1100 tris.
LOD has 600 tris... which is a tad high, but these things do not blend in with the urban environment on the ground, aka they stand out, and I felt they needed some more detail, I especially wanted the tether to be visibleat a distance. Then again, they are not growables, so you probably won't have hundreds of these flying around lagging up your pc. ^^

The colored rings light up to provide a warning for unsuspecting pilots to heed. As always, you may change the light ring's color variations in the asset editor!

I did actually have to buy a completely up to date video card so I kept the old one and will use the new one in a DDR4 system if I ever decide to build one and use the DDR3 system for a
UNIX (not Linux) server. I was train in UNIX at Bell Labs in Denver.

That's why I spent about $500 on upgrading my PC to it's maximum specs to be able to play Cites: Skylines. I could have gone for a DDR4 based system but building a totally new system would have cost over $1000 to match the capabilities of my old DDR3 system. There are some components (can't remember which ones right now) that cost more in a DDR4 system then the upgrade costs for my DDR3 system.

That sounds grim :(... I've found that when one has too much time on their hands, it can be ironically difficult to find some satisfaction in life. I hope you succeed in that.

<Snicker> I sometimes forget this is a game.
I'm retired with WAY TOO much time on my hands and I'm already one(1) past my family's expected life span. I've already got an adoption for my cat ready if need be.

@Evil, Pretty well actually.
Against lightning they have a special grounding system that might not work. So that's covered.
If you're worried about tornadoes, under threat they have been fitted with a revolutionary functionality: they may be demolished! Once the coast is clear new ones may purchased. This process can be repeated as often as you see fit. Most mayors should have no problem affording the extra buck.
As for aircraft, you can tell your pilots not to fly near them. Alternatively you may place them where pilots do not fly.... I know it's hard to train reliable pilots, but that's a different issue that sometimes even affects subways...

How do these handle lightning, tornadoes and aircraft?
