Mineable Asteroids(exorbitant)

Description
A modification I have made for Reassembly that features EXORBITANT amounts of resources within all asteroids.

Keep in mind that this mod makes point defense cannons freak out at asteroids, since photosynth blocks do not function without a connected command block, and asteroids with capacity blocks alone do not magically pull resources from no where.

Asked Questions:

Q: Are all asteroids now this boring, simple chunk of squares?
A: Nope. Same shapes and varieties as in Vanilla, but now yielding resources.

Q: I dislike the textures, what can be done bout it?
A: Unfortunately, not much, other than me making a less bountiful asteroid resources mod where only a few or one of the asteroid types has resources instead of almost all of them. The reason for this is that certain features of a block denote that a block be designated a certain texture, like "features=COMMAND|PHOTOSYNTH" giving the asteroids the texture that they currently have, basically the same textures as can be found on command blocks and solar panels. The reason for this is the asteroids don't bring resources from nothing to fill their capacities, and the photosynth function will not work without a command block attached or within the same block.

@Void Stitch your faction idea is amazing, but one slight flaw, unless the faction is quite tanky I doubt they'd be able to survive the process. Nevertheless, it's an amazing idea which could be further improved via a "syringe" which could just be a melee damage block.

@Void Stitch
I hope it's possible to make that mod, that sounds amazing.

@Void Stitch Thats a bit drastic, maybe start with grafting, then go to grappling, and after that replacing cores, and then combine them. One step at a time.

Now since it is possible to make a faction like "Reassemblers" which has all the blocks, something I am interested in would be a faction which is able to grapple onto an enemy ship, perhaps using a specialized plant on its hull, bore into the core, eliminate it and replace it with a core for your faction, allowing you to take over the ships of enemy factions at the expense of R and C. This would in effect be a variation on the ability to grab parts from wreckage and graft them onto your ships.

Now if this is not something you want to do then perhaps the maker of that Hiigaran mod, or one of the modders who has done some extensive work with plants.

Now for what I'm thinking the plants would require a drone launcher. They would still produce seeds as usual, but when the drone launcher, which would have whatever damage resistance is deemed appropriate, takes damage this would trigger the launch of drones, perhaps with a X number of drones per X amount of damage calculation.

The drones would have just one function, float around and release resources as they are shot at. You could make a specialized drone for the player which only targets the drones released from the "asteroid" plants. This would be the only way of harvesting resources from these plants. In effect this would add in asteroids which regenerate and grow.

I think Moby Dick is talking about making asteroid mining more like how it is in the X-verse games ie eg X2 and X3. This could perhaps be more feasible than it appears, though it would need to be its own mod.

First off, and the point I would have made in the first place, the use of modified plants would be perhaps better in terms of both function, weapon interaction and visual aesthetic.

Damn had to break this up due to character limitations.

I apreciate your interest and ambition, but unfortunately, not likely to happen.
