Description
A variety of garbage related assets, including modifications to some of the best custom 3D models on the workshop. The statistics (processing capacity, number of trucks, pollution generation, etc.) have been carefully calculated to work well with each other and the default assets. For example, the number and educational requirements of the workers is based on the type of facility. The workers each receive a salary based on their education level. That salary is part of the operating cost of the facility, along with the number of garbage trucks. All of the statistics are calculated using similar formulas which results in a much more realistic simulation.

These assets should also help fix some of the problems many garbage assets have. For example, have you noticed an incinerator that has lots of idle trucks while garbage is piling up all over the city? Have you noticed that CS reports that you have a lot of extra incinerator capacity, but garbage is still piling up? Have you noticed that the garbage collection budget is too high when compared to other city services? These are the result of using assets with bad statistics. This collection will help address these issues.

It is also recommended (but not required) that you use the Central Services Dispatcher mod. The default pathfinding for garbage trucks is terrible. For example, by default, all garbage trucks try to service your entire city even if that means driving to the other side of the city to pick up garbage that is right next door to another garbage facility. This mod helps with that.

This collection contains the following buildings:

Rural Recycling Center - This recycling center is designed to be used for a small remote towns or a brand new city. It is very cheap to build and operate and does not generate much pollution. However, it does not process very much trash.

District Recycling Center - Double the capacity of the Rural Recycling Center, with similar pollution levels, but with increased construction and operating costs.

Regional Recycling Center - Five times the capacity of the District Recycling Center with similar operating cost on $/truck basis. However, the construction cost is significantly higher, and pollution levels are also higher.

Material Recovery Facility (MRF) - The MRF is a hybrid landfill and recycling center. It has the same capacity as the default landfill, but will divert a portion of the incoming trash to an on-site recycling facility so that the landfill will take much longer to reach capacity. Once it reaches capacity, it will still process a small amount of garbage. It is significantly more expensive to build than the default landfill, but is slightly cheaper to operate since the recyclables offset some of the operating cost.

Regional Low Tech Incinerator - This beast has 40 trucks and enough capacity to keep them all busy 24 hours a day. It is not very expensive to build or operate on a $/truck basis and you get the bonus of some power generation. However, this incinerator generates a very large amount of air and noise pollution so you will want to place it far away from your city center with good access to your road network.

Regional High Tech Incinerator - This incinerator has the same capacity as the Low Tech Incinerator, but is more expensive to build and operate, only has 25 trucks, and requires workers with higher educational levels. The benefits are that it generates more electricity and less pollution so it can be placed much closer to your city center, resulting in shorter trips for the trucks.

The assets use the Common Props and Trees Collection (link below). If you don't subscribe to this collection, everything will still work, but there will be a few props missing.

I did not create the custom 3D models used by these. However, I have made numerous changes to them so that they will work better together as a collection. I try to use only assets with low triangle counts and small file sizes whenever possible.
