Ion Jetpack

Description
This mod removes the hydrogen requirement for operating jetpacks. When enabled, hydrogen will no longer be required to operate personal jetpacks, and as such characters will no longer store hydrogen. If there are any issues, please comment and let me know, and I'll see what I can do. Thank you and enjoy!

A note on energy requirement for jetpacks:

A lot of folks seem to think that either this mod changes the energy consumption of the jetpack, that it was not part of the game previously, or have asked to make changes to that requirement. To be absolutely clear: this mod DOES NOT CHANGE the power consumption of the jetpack. That should be the same as vanilla, and is affected by natural gravity fields. I have not and will not change that requirement, as that is not the point of this mod; rather, the sole purpose of it is to not have to use hydrogen, and that's all. Please find or make another mod if you want to change the power requirements of the jetpack.

There is a known issue where if you remove the mod on an existing save file, you will still have no hydrogen tank in your player suit at first. To fix this, remove the mod from your save, then restart the game; the built-in hydrogen should start working again after that.

Many thanks to Digi for his help in improving this mod!

Correction: rather than respawning, you actually have to remove the mod from your save, and then restart the game if you've loaded the save at least once in your current session. I've tested this both with and without respawning, and unless you restart the client, respawning doesn't itself fix it.

TL:DR; remove mod from save first, then restart your game. Don't know why it's that way, but it fixes that problem.

@Maxnar I just did some testing and energy is consumed as expected. In space it's negligible, but in natural gravity (on planets) it uses a lot more power. That's built into the vanilla game, so that is working as intended.

However, it seems that if you remove the mod on a preexisting save file, the game does not automatically add back in the hydrogen storage for the player. To fix this, all I had to do was respawn my character (default key is I); after that, the suit hydrogen came back. Please try that and see if it resolves your issue.

Rogen. It hapend to me too. My game is broken . Can only fly with jetpack for 10 seconds or so, then out of energy. Die remove the mod, But same as you loosing energy same. Any solution how to remove this mod ?

The jetpack requires energy even in the vanilla game. This mod does not change that or how much energy it uses, only the amount of hydrogen required.

Because of this mod, the whole game is broken, even though I deleted the mod, I still lose my energy while using jetpack.

The jetpacks will perform the same way they do normally on planets, the only difference being that suit power is the only fuel requirement.

is the jetpack strong enough to operate on any planet?

I was looking for an infinite jetpack mod.
It seems I came to the wrong place.
