I've posted on Polycount to raise awareness about your ripping efforts. Polycount is the community where many of these models were made, and some of the authors do still hang around there.
Also if an author is in fact dead, it still doesn't make it public domain to post their work as your own. You'd have to wait 75 years for that to happen first.
i tell you again i have asked a workshop devs about this.
Workshop item can be deleted only when author can proof that he is a author.
