The Conquerors (AoC) Main Menu Art

Description
Compatible with: Age of Empires II HD base game, The Forgotten, African Kingdoms, Rise of the Rajas.

Requires: Game version 5.0 or newer

It's winter, and the (knights) are drawing in...

This mod replaces the main menu art of Age of Empires II HD with the snow, wintery theme from The Conquerors expansion. It also makes the background menu sound (which plays after the main theme) the night time, windy version from the Conquerors

This mod uses the original Conquerors menu art, which I've photoshopped to be widescreen, using elements of the defauilt HD Edition art, adding additional snow, and lighting effects to make it appear part of the original art.

This mod also replaces all menu icons with versions of the HD Edition menu icons, which I've photoshopped to fit the night-time snow theme or, in some cases, icons from the original game that I've edited to improve quality.

A new metal sign hanging down from the top 'title' sign has been added to house the Player Name and ELO information, an idea taken from the HD Edition menu.

This menu mod removes DLC banners. I may re-add them but for now I felt they covered up too much of the original snowy artwork.

As with any of my mods, I'm more than happy to take feedback. Anything here that can be tweaked or improved, let me know your thoughts in the comments!

I would love to get this background and into music for DE. Have you already made this or know of anyone who has? I love this one and want it on DE as well.

If the mod doesn't look like the screenshot, the most likely reason is that you've got another mod running as well. Check the priority order in the mod manager. This mod uses exactly the icons shown above.

As for the music - at present, the game chooses a main menu theme at random from the various expansions. You can install this mod - https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=464691288 - to make sure it always uses the Conquerors version.

Hey Sir Jasper, if you're still around, just wanted to say this is great. I've been trying my best to remove the signs completely for a Definitive Edition mod, but my 'shopping skills clearly aren't as good as yours haha!

The windy Conquerors theme is called xtown and it could be found in the game files. Thank you for making this, hits me right in the childhood
