UPDATES:
Saturn-II along with its modular design has been designed for interplanetary and Atmospheric travel. Fuel time with all tanks full is aprox one hour (1/hr) of maneuvering and usable flight. Possibly more if the generators are ran to create additional hydrogen or just hovering. This is an approximation given sim speed results may vary but with that said its an impressive amount of endurance for such a large vessel in atmospheric flying (where the thursters are always burning) in deep space operations where fuel doesnt have to be constantly burned the ship can operate for very extended periods of time and has a jump drive if you wish to relocate using electrical power and not burn off the tanks. Refinery & Assembler equipped in addition to the modular connector areas which can house whatever the user wishes to fill them with. See GopeScopes ADY modules on the workshop for more details and examples.
.
The goal of this vessel is to make it one of the first ships totally compatible and standardized with GopeScopes "Arclight Drive Yards" modular concept. That way if you want some flexibility and wish to use ADY modules with it you can! ..... Also the potential to equip it with cruise missiles along the spine and make it a "Mega Ship Killer" is tempting (I fired some modules full of explosives at larger ships and it was quite devastating) but mainly its a freighter/support craft and not made for front line combat... Shes done, im exhausted. Details at a later date.. Frankenstein of a ship.
.
-=AUTHOR NOTES=-
The ship is large but since its modular and mainly just a spine it should be easy to produce in survival and than whatever modules are needed can be added at a later date. Was originally designed as an economical bulk freighter but why limit yourself? Wouldn't worry to much about the spine itself being attacked or blown in half. Ship is designed to function with out it and you'll only lose excess weight in such an emergency. Infact the forward section is actually an escape pod and meant to be detached. Also this is a civilian industrial ship although with the module connectors you might be able to convert her to combat roles.

UPDATES / FIXES:
1. Docks are suppose to be dock-3-2-1 aft to front on the buttons but I believe I might have done dock-1-2-3.... ah dyslexia is so evil it makes it hard to live sometimes "live evil dog god! yeeaaaahh... Also to get everything working you might have to changed the me/nobody ownership as I forgot to reset all of this before upload. Just make sure ownership is the same as the module you're attaching basically so you dont have one of those "Why wont the connect?! >.<" moments like I did earlier with the example prison/cryo configuration. >.>

COMMENT: phil.mull Dec 31, 2015 @ 3:32am:
Not the most spactaculare ship at first glance untill you study it closely. It's an impressive ship. Good thing you keep updating this ship. The standard thruster replacement with hydrogen thrusters means you never saw another crash again. Though that's a huge amount of hydrogen tankage. You must have to constantly find large quantities of ice to keep those tanks refilled. Good stuff.

ANSWER:
Yes, shes a bit of a sleeper at first glance. I wanted her to be fully functional yet also a blank canvas of sorts for other players and to future proof the hull as SE is always changing. With the modular design people can really customize her how they want and make it their own. Which I think is important when owning something, adding little touches to make it yours. ..... As for the hydrogen, that was a bit of a quick fix ..... Shes really a deep space craft and was never designed for surface operations. Instead the idea was to use modular drop pods to get things to the surface... buuuuut... wanted to see if it could be done and it came out pretty crazy. I believe using temporary booster modules on the old ion thrust variant might work better but havent made any. In the future I hope to redo the entire engine nacelle and propulsion system to be a little more duel purpose and better looking as the hydrogen tanks take up a ton of space. Thanks for the feed back! Saturn is actually one of my favorite builds because its so Frankenstein-ish. :)
