Mosin Nagant Marksman (Sniper) Sound Mod - Historical

[IMPORTANT: READ DESCRIPTION FIRST!]


Heya guys,

This mod changes the Mosin Nagant sound to a historical accurate one. I really like the real sound of this gun. It makes it sound so incredibly menacing.

This mod features a heavy, bass-full sound that makes your beloved Mosin sound like a real bolt-action rifle. The sound files come from a Youtube video by TFB TV, although I enhanced the sound quite a bit. I hope you guys love the sound as much as I do.

[INSTALLING]
1. Sub to this mod
2. Start the game
3. Enjoy! (yes it's that simple)

[IMPORTANT STUFF]

Method 1. (recommended as first)

1.1. No need to backup

1.2. Delete the file \Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\Published\CookedPC\Packages\Audio\AUD_Firearms_Rifle_9130_Sn.upk

Method 2. (for more safety, takes longer though. Recommended if method 1 doesn't work for you)

2.1. Backing up
Needless to say but I still will. If you want to stay on the safe side, you have to copy and paste this file somewhere else to keep it safe:
YourDisk:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Red Orchestra 2\ROGame\BrewedPC\Packages\Audio\AUD_Firearms_Rifle_9130_Sn.upk

2.2. Restoring and uninstalling the mod if you didn't backup the file
Delete: YourDisk:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Red Orchestra 2\ROGame\BrewedPC\Packages\Audio\AUD_Firearms_Rifle_9130_Sn.upk

Then head to \Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\Published\CookedPC\Packages\Audio\AUD_Firearms_Rifle_9130_Sn.upk
Delete that too.

Then verify the integrity of the game's cache. I don't know how long this takes though. It might take a while.

2.3. Restoring and uninstalling if you have the backup file
Replace: YourDisk:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Red Orchestra 2\ROGame\BrewedPC\Packages\Audio\AUD_Firearms_Rifle_9130_Sn.upk with your backup file

Then head to \Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\Published\CookedPC\Packages\Audio\AUD_Firearms_Rifle_9130_Sn.upk
Delete that too.


[NOTES]
- Thanks to HerrFockeWulf for testing this out with me!
- This does work on multiplayer, but maybe not on all servers
- Keep in mind that this mod only changes the sound your own gun produces. You will still hear the normal sound coming from other Mosin players.
- For me my sound mods causes disconnection after Match end, when it starts loading. You just have to rejoin the server via server browser. That's the only sacrifice we have to make.
