Here's my best attempt after trying a bunch of things. Unfortunately I couldn't do patterns or what not. All I managed was 10 shades ranging from Black to White and 8 shades of grey in between. Hopefully it's better than what is available. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=865640863

When I read your advice about the "color blind option" I was very happy because I did not know about it. But then I turned it on, loaded a game and... nothing happened. No difference in colors, they all look too similar one to another. The problem is: when two similar colors are adiacent on the screen, it's easy to me to distinguish them because one is light and the other is dark; but when they are in different places, e.g when I have two neighbour in different regions of the planet, it's not easy to me to look at them and say : "Oh, sure, this is my friend and allied, this front is safe" or "Ouch! My worst enemy just founded a new town next to me!" because they are purple and blue (or blue and purple? who knows?) and I can't say which is friend and wich is foe. This is how it works: and the "color blind option" really does not have any effect on my vision.

If that's not good enough, I'll see what I can do.

There is a color blind option in the options menu. Go to options -> UI -> Empire Color Palettes -> Color Blind

How color blind are you? is it a red green spectrum or full color blindness? I could do shades of grey. Patterns unfortunately wouldn't be possible

I am color blind and it's very difficult for me to identify players in this game. If you have been able to make this mod, maybe you can find a solution for this problem too. Like some kind of pattern or texture or watermark to use in addition to colors... please help.

Yes. It doesn't affect gameplay whatsoever. In fact this one keeps the same number of colors as the original game, so pretty close.
