Pyxis 2 - Solar Exploration Rover/Ship Battery Charger

Description
Hello!

I see you checking out that solar powered positive gravity land exploration vehicle. What a beaut huh? She is quite the craft. Her name is Pyxis, she is named after the constellation of the compass. She is quite useful at exploring your surroundings, helping you scout out and gain your bearings. Why don't you take a seat on her, let me tell you about some more of her features.

She can charge your larger ships with her rotating, lockable solar panels. She can haul cargo making those quick mining runs while keeping your suit and tool charged up. She even has room for two! Take your significant other on a romantic outing by the lake!

She is a remote controlled craft, even when sitting on board, so she gives you the ultimate capabilities in auto-pilot (feature not yet implemented in-game for rovers) as well as remote operation. She has a flashing safety beacon in case you get a bit turned around after that short hike to the lake and need help locating her again. Another 'neat' safety feature is her ability to self-right using those solar panels. Just give 'em a quick deployment and within seconds you are ready to go again!

Overall the only thing she doesn't have that you might need is a set of cupholders. Maybe that'll come standard on next years model, eh?

Thanks for checking her out and have fun with her, won't you?

It works! I have had a problem on using it on servers. It explodes as soon as it is completed. But replacing the wheels seems to work. On singleplayer is is remarkable. I dont mean to insult the craft in any way. I just think mulitplayer is buggy as hell.

engineerwilliam98 - Nice observation! This design actually does incorporate the rotating solar panels on his rover. This craft does borrow a lot of other great deisgns, as well as use a few of my own handy ideas, too!

The original prototype of this vehicle was a bit larger and used a piston to vertical erect the solar panels out from inside the body of the car before rotating them towards the sun. Seeing Morph's idea did help me shorten the vehicle which helps with stability on a fairly narrow chassis. I imagine mine might be a bit more capable on rocky terrain as well as a load more durable in crashes, however.

Excellent! A triumph of engineering!
