Description
While fully capable of destroying enemy gunships and ground attacks, the Mantis was deemed to sluggish to perform the role of an Interceptor and so Hyperion Systems engineers began development of a high performance aircraft to engage enemy fighters. The result was the Hornet Interceptor. The Hornet is a much more agile aircraft than the Mantis and it's eight conveyor fed gatling guns can tear enemy small craft apart. Strong upward thrust allows the Hornet to cruise at a higher altitude than it's sibling, perfect for scouting for potential engagements. The Hornet is typically deployed from the main deck of the Artemis command carrier, allowing that vessel to quickly engage enemy fighters.

I think that there needs to be more planet to atmosphere small ships.

Nice, but weak in terms of armoring. As I understand from large TWR and excellent forward thrust, they're designed for boom'n'zoom aerial combat tactics?

Cumu[FR] No Cockpits are just fine... I think we need a wider varity of guns and more balancing... Also more varity of ships... Only few people build ships that have other weakpoints than the cockpit. I think if we get more subsystems to make a ship work, then we would see better battles.:KOh:

They are a little bit weak. You should be able to enjoy other gunfire problems like engines shot off and so on. Destroyed cockpit shouldn't be the only outcome of a lost fight :-D

But decoy block helps a little bit.

I'm always been ejected my ship early in combat due to too exposed cockpit. Do you think that cockpit are too weak too ?
