Six-Seven Prototype Dropship 5th place UESC build Contest 21

The Six-Seven is a prototype planetary dropship. Designed to carry a wide variety of equipment via a ventral mounted hardpoint. As it is typically employed in combat roles, the ship is well armed and its leading edges are armored.

This prototype is equipped with a 6 man drop container for military personnel.
It mounts 4 forward guns and 4 defensive turrets. When assigned to combat insertion missions the Six-Seven is to equip a number of rocket pods to clear out drop zones.

As it is not designed for dogfights, the ship's maneuverability is limited, though still fairly responsive. It mounts an array of air breathing and ion engines, as well as a single hydrogen thruster to assist orbital insertions.

Pilot: Flies, controls static weaponry, employs decoy system, and controls thruster groups.
Co-Pilot: Operates turrets, operates cargo hardpoint (note: page two of pilot controls has a hardpoint release for testing purposes.)

Maximum recommended operational mass: 160,000kg

Surface to orbital insertions begin with an atmospheric thruster ascent at 65-75 degrees. The hydrogen thruster is activated at around 4000-5000m, then the ion thrust at aroung 5000-6000m, disengaging the atmo thrusters at 8000-9000m, and finally killing the hydrogen thruster at 13000m.
No fancy maneuvers required for re-entry, pretty slick and smooth to stable flight actually.
