Thunderling Mk4 FMJ

Description
The Thunderling Mk4 FMJ converts the once wood wonder into a Full Metal Jacket War Machine. The Forward AAA cannon has been rebuilt (again) to use a shorter turret so it does not block the cannons behind it. It’s fairly inaccurate however because the barrel needed to be short enough to allow it a 360 firing arc.

The Vessel sits pretty heavy in the stern now, I tried to keep as much wood in the interior without compromising armor but it has certainly affected the Thunderling’s top speed which is now between 17-19mps depending on waves.

I actually just finished a tweak. I drew down the keel the rest of the way to get some more air below the deck and to give it some spaced armor vs. torpedoes. It brings it up just a wee bit, and then I messed around with the thrusters a bit. To be honest the biggest issue right now is that the center of mass has changed. I played Tetris with the thrusters a little bit but it’s late and I need to knock off.

I’m really glad you like it Aavak. I saw how there’s a bit of a wood shortage in the resources department so I wanted to get this refit done sooner than later. Hopefully you can get some use out of her if the DWG get to friendly. If the mood takes you of course. In any case it was fun to build off of.
