Flight Δ

Description
Fly up and down and get as many blocks as you can. Dodge greys. Mind your fuel level and refill it with Powerpellets, or you'll be stuck to the ground.

_________
There is a mod for Audiosurf 2, called flightPlus by Kiisseli, which just so happens to be my favorite mod for Audiosurf 2, period. For those who don't know, it's basically a gridless Mono, but you can move up and down as well as left and right (and blocks also appear on different heights). I enjoyed it a lot, but, as time went by, I started to feel it wasn't as perfect as it could be.

My complaints were small, but numerous: some glitches (e.g. unreachable fuel blocks outside of ship's bounds), no stealth concept, corkscrews which are really more irritating than fun (they are hard to navigate through with even one row, with 3 it becomes next to impossible), fuel level not really affecting gameplay that much, only one native skin, etc etc. But, first and most important - it... didn't really feel like flight. If anything, the ship was more like a mouse pointer, than any flying vehicle. And for a long time I hoped some modder would make a more realistic flying mod.

Until suddenly I became that modder.

I proudly present to you reworked flightPlus mode, Flight Δ.

Changes from flightPlus to Flight Δ:
- First, the flight itself. You still can steer your ship left and right with mouse, but to go up/down you'll need to press left/right mouse button. The ship has momentum, so, when you release a button, the ship will still go in that direction a little bit. If you don't press any buttons, the ship will glide, eventually reaching the bottom of the boundaries.
- Fuel is now required only for up/down movement: when you press left/right mouse button, your fuel will deplete (gliding and inertial movements, however, don't drain it). If you run out of fuel, you will be unable to move up/down, and your ship will eventually glide all the way down. While you're there, you can pick up blocks from the lowest row (just like in vanilla Mono). You can refill your fuel by picking up powerpellets (which conveniently spawn only at the lowest row. You're welcome).
- 5 columns of blocks, instead of 3.
- Stealth concept returned.
- No corkscrews.
- Minimap now shows positions of fuel blocks (= powerpellets).

I hope you enjoy this mod! If you have any suggestions or want to offer a new skin for me to include, feel free to ask!

Just tried this for a bit, and I loved it. The up-down mechanism with the mouse buttons, while potentially less accurate feels a lot less clumsy to me. The removal of corkscrews makes for a whole lot less confusing experience and the addition of fuel is an engaging punishment for missing the powerpellets.
