Operation Baltic Vigilance, 2020

Description
Operation Baltic Vigilance by Skjold (SwAF vs. Estonia)

Sweden and Estonia is holding a joint Airforce and Navy exercise to increase the combat readyness of both nations. Sweden will simulate a squadron sized attack with a force consisting of the newest airplanes and weaponry. Estonia military mostly consists of hand downs from NATO allies and Sweden. as they have little funding to procure the most modern and effective equipment. This makes their military somewhat dated, but Estonia still has excellent radar coverage and quite a formidable SAM net.

Mission
You are tasked to destroy several key military and civil infrastructure targets deep inside Estonia, these will be protected by enemy aircraft and SAM sites. Destroying radar installations, SAM sites and airplanes is your secondary objectives.

Notes
This mission assumes that Estonia has greatly expanded its military and recieved hand downs / bought new equipment in the timespan between 2015-2020. All systems used by them in this scenario with the exception of ground radar and Mistral ATLAS is fictional.

Thanks to ThunderCBR for hes excellent Estonian installation imports.

Changelog 3/9 2016

Hey Skjold - Great scenario - a fun and interesting challenge with relatively few units, but lots of different ways to use them.

Interesting. Compare to this scenario;
According to a recent study by U.S. think Rand, NATO would lose in the event of Russia starting a war in the Baltic states.

The study outlined the vunerability of NATO’s eastern flank. It stated that if NATO wants to properly defend Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, it would need to station seven brigades in the region, in addition to three heavy armoured brigades, plus airpower and artillery.
