It's been expanded along the coastline in a way to make space for some terraced flatlands too, complete with fertile lands on most terraces. The island is known for its 3 signature mountains that have a volcanic origin but volcanic cones are also present in the region.

What makes this map special is the great variety of different terrains in a rather small place; it's a challenging map too but the view is rewarding from almost all spots around the isle. It's recommended for those who like to build smaller but more detailed cities and villages. Although there's only one major outside connection there's enough resource scattered around to take advantage of it, oil and ore mostly at the flat coastal areas. True to reality, fertile lands were included on the uplands too, close to the dormant volcanoes which provide a good soil for agriculture! There and on many terraces you'll find plantations of various kind - placing residential lots next to these provides a nice feeling to it.

One of the many challenges is the ever sloping terrain, although rather gentle at most parts. A clever use of (dirt) roads is to build serpentine ways on slopes. Valley floors also come useful when placing roads. The same ideas go to building the railway system (one rail connection included).

Two square peninsulas and an off-shore island were included too; these are ideal for industry and placing larger facilities like an airport. The off-shore island is covered with oil sources and a deep square shaped wastewater reservoir ideal for pipe outflows. 3 other wastewater ponds on the main island also serve the same purpose.

The island boosts 3 streams, one with a richly planted spring but all have waterfalls. Other special places include the scenic marshland of the river delta, a major sandy beach, a rocky beach with a river mouth, the 'lighthouse' peninsula and the complex jagged upland with prominent valleys leading up to it. Two chains of 3 flat islands run along the coast as well - with a great view of the major island.

– I recommend the 25 tile mod if you wish to cover the whole island (this is useful for having the industrial island too, with the wastewater reservoir on it).

– As for the choice of architecture, besides the in-game houses, I recommend the South of France collection or the British one, both would fit well. (Montserrat is an island from England's colonial past)
