The Catalyst (pure)

Inspired by the classics Q1DM4 and cpm3, The Catalyst is a small duel map featuring two rooms, one with each of the major items.

Basic item config: RA, MH, 2xYA (featuring all weapons).

Due to the height difference between the 'floors' of the map there are no stairs connecting them directly instead level connectivity is achieved by jumpad and teleporters, there is also one cross-map teleport that was supposed to speed up the map even more. The end result is very similar in gameplay to cpm3 where you also have two disjointed floors.

Map has a fair amount of jumps but most of them are rather essentials and a decent player will perform them in very reliable manner hence why they're considered as connections, although players of all skill levels are able to pick every item without the problem (they would just have to choose a specific route which is always slower).

The goal of the map was to create a duel arena that plays fast with a lot of player contact, hence the name
