Wargamers and Dungeoneers of TTS, behold! I, the Exalted Vess, have heard your pleas and from the depths of my mystic vaults bestow upon you these treasures: Pretty squares and discs!

Over these past few months I have continually discussed the topic of model bases with many of you within the TTS community who subscribe to and follow my work. For those of you less familiar with my process, especially when it comes to models/modeling, I generally release content in large quantities ranging anywhere from 50 to up to 1000+ individual/unique models at a time depending on their complexity and variation. So, variety and versatility are key parts of any project I'm working on since the last thing I want to do is have to go back and change hundreds of files. I'd much rather have the option of adding new material, which brings me back to the purpose of this model pack!

Unlike Warhammer 40k, Fantasy Battles uses "square bases" vs the "round bases" used in 40k and some other games. This is because units in WHFB are often closely packed together and move in boxy formations as opposed to "squad mechanics" where smaller numbers of units spread out across cover. However, I decided to create and include circular versions of each base anyway for whatever reason you may want or prefer them! Furthermore, I made 5 different versions of the square tiles that can just as easily be used as map terrain for RPGs as it is for easily basing large numbers of units for Wargames. In addition to creating various terrain themed bases, I made unique faction themed bases for each of the Warhammer armies I have finished. The exception being the Dwarves since I am halfway done with them and should be releasing them sometime next week.

Though I still plan on eventually releasing based versions of my Warhammer collections, these separate bases can be manually attached to my or anyone else's models in-game using the "Joint" tool! Now you might be wondering "What's this 'Joint tool' and how do I use it?" Ser Robert asked me this in the Discussions section of my Greenskins Army collection, so i'll repost my response:

"As for your question, there is a tool in TTS called "Joint" which you will find with the rest of the in game tools. Its icon looks like a metal chain and if you hover your mouse of the icon it will tell you a little bit of info about what it does. In short, it's like gluing 2 or more objects together depending on how you use it. So in this case, you would take whatever you intend on using as a "base" and put one of my Warhammer models on top of it or in whatever position you want it to stay in. Then you click the joint tool, click one of the objects and then drag the link over the 2nd object you are linking it with. After that you can right click the first object and you will now see a "joint" tab below "custom". Here is where you can adjust/change the properties of the joint. For what you are trying to do just use the "Fixed" option which should be the default anyway."

You can also read a bit more about the function of Joints here at Berserk Games website: http://berserk-games.com/032015-update-v4-2-joints-physics-game-master/

Here are some important points to keep in mind when joining two or more objects together:

1). You can join multiple objects to a single object but you can't join a single object to multiple objects as. So for example, you can join multiple elf spearmen to a single tile(Meaning dragging the joint tool from elf to tile) but if you try to join the tile to each elf(dragging the tool from tile to elf) it will only remain attached to the last object you attached it to. I know this may be confusing to read but play around with this in-game and you will see what I mean.

2) The "link" between two models is joined at the "center" of each model's respective collision box. This is something you will notice more when attaching multiple smaller objects to a larger one. For example, if you join 4 spearmen to the 2x2 tile (so 1 spearmen per tile) and then lift the tile up and shake it around, you may notice some of the spearmen wobble and bounce around on an invisible elastic string but then come back to their original positions once you stop moving the tile they are attached to. The ones closer to the edges of an object will seem to be more elastic than ones closer to the center which may not move at all. I still haven't figured out if there is a way to make this connection more ridged so that they don't flop around, but regardless they will return to normal once you are done moving them so just keep that in mind.

3) Putting jointed objects in bags will break the joint and separate the models. I'm hoping this is something the Devs will change/fix in the future since this makes it very difficult to save and move jointed objects between servers/tables.

4) Do not resize objects once you have joined them together. The joint changes with the model and will cause the objects to clip through each other and causes problems with how they interact with game physics.

5) You can copy and paste objects that are joined. So let's say you just finished putting 4 spearmen on a 2x2 tile. Well now you can just select all the models, ctrl+c and then ctrl+v and you will copy all the models and their joints.

If there is anything I missed or am mistaken about please feel free to let me know so I can make the necessary changes to better help people understand!

UPDATE: Added 12 new textures divided into 3 new terrain groups

-Sand
-Lava
-Snow

You can find the new bags containing each new terrain's 4 subcategories in the top right corner of the table!

Feb 29-Created hexagon tiles as per request!

As a side note I'd like to make a little request:

I spend a considerable amount of my free time, when not working or in school, to make models and their textures and bring them into TTS. It would mean a lot to me, if you use my models or their textures in your own Workshop uploads, to just mention/credit me and my work somewhere in your description and post a link back to the specific mod or my Workshop. I try to do the same in anything I upload and give credit where credit is due.

I hope that you find this and my other work useful in enhancing your TTS experience. If you enjoyed this mod make sure to like, follow and leave me feedback or anything you feel like sharing.

For more models, maps and tools, check out my workshop and follow me to get the latest in my TTS mods!

Any chance we could get something like this but with a 2D plane for "paper" minis?

Sadly, every single item in the mod is borked, I assume since the update.

I don't quite understand. Are in the mod only bases and tiles? Where can i find models/miniatures/characters?

Hey, these arent working for me either. They appear as little spheres and when trying to important them i get "unknown error". this seems to be a problem with all of your TTS mods in particular. All my other workshop mods spawn fine.

Hey Vess, love your work. Looking to make some 2D models (front and back) but I want to just put the cutout into TTS and join it to a Base. Problem is, the only way I know to get a cutout model into TTS involves Custom > Figurine and this means it has a large circular base and a card on its back, neither of which I want. I've been designing tabletop games like Warhammer for 7 years now and could photograph my whole collection, front and back, and get it all into TTS but I need to solve this problem first.

Hey there, I am unable to load any of your mods. I receive the following error for all items in your mods, "www model error: unable to complete ssl connection" I do not have issues with any other mods. I am hoping you will be able to help. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
