Retroactive Upgrades

Description
*** Note Oct 2018 ***
Came across this mod which should work for weapons for WOTC.
WOTC: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1261939709
TLP: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1535617521

*** Note June 2017 ***

So this mod has some issues where the Research items and Proving Ground projects would randomly not work or would randomly not even appear. I don't have a fix and if I'm entirely honest, it would be easier for me to do an entire re-write of the mod which I currently don't have time to do.

So instead, I highly recommend you use the Uniforms Manager mod for outfits.

I haven't found anything for weapons but if you've come across a mod that tackles the weapons if a decent way, I would greatly appreciate it if you could post a link or name in the comments.

Thanks!

*** End Note ***

This mod upgrades the previous tier of weapons and armor to the current tier.

This mod was made to have essentially zero conflicts.

This mod has been an annoying project, with over 2000 lines of very similar looking code blocks with minor modifications. There will probably be a couple bugs I have missed. If you spot any, I would greatly appreciate it if you leave a comment with the issue.

Additional Note: I haven't test this mod without the Resistance Pack, however I did add code to check for it. It should theoretically work if you dont have the DLC.

Thanks!
-Tsybil

Version History:
24 Feb 2016 - Initial Release
28 Feb 2016 - Fixed duplicate tattoos. Added swords.
01 Mar 2016 - PG Projects now truly instant. Added Psi-amps, gremlins and grenade launchers.
05 Mar 2016 - Made a PG Project able to convert to special armors between looks.
10 Mar 2016 - Tempory Hot-Fix due to Tech Object change
12 Mar 2016 - Used new style to handle mod upgrades.
13 Mar 2016 - Fixed new items not being retroactive for first time mod install.

Known Things:
* Things aren't hiding! I've disabled this for now as it seems super buggy since the patch.
* Resistance Armor still requires completing a Proving Ground Project

would this happen to work with war of the chosen?

Cool stuff good to know. I did used Xskin system but thats wwwwaay out of date now and not longwar compatible never mind WotC.

It might. If I remember how I did this there shouldn't be any conflicts. Although I would suggest using a different mod for your needs now. When I wrote this the best method at the time was very hacky and would sometimes randomly not work.

I would recommend using the Uniforms Manager mod for outfits instead. As for weapons I'm not entirely sure since the other mods I can find have comments suggesting they might not be compatible with LongWar or also have the random breakage issue.

Once WotC expac comes out, I might revisit this mod and do a complete rewrite.

To change slots, go to :

630101688\Src\RetroactiveUpgrades\Classes

And open Retro_Weapons.uc with Notepad/Else

Change the slots number. Enjoy. Just be carefull : 5 slots is the absolute max I recommend, due to not having scrollbar for Mods.

Any chance anyone knows where to edit the number of upgrade slots per item? I'd love to be able to tweak that, as I have on my 'standard' playthrough.

@Tsybil Thanks for the mod, been looking into it a bit, not much of a coding person but apparently I've managed to determine the reason for my previous bug. For what I could tell, the SMG mod from LW had the same issue, when upgrading from tier to tier with a weapons equiped, an invisible weapon would be equiped to a soldier making them have two sets of shoot and overwath icons, for what the patch notes say in their workshop page, this issue has been fixed in their mod. Don't know if the mod changes something with yours but I just wanted to let you know. Thanks again :D
