[WotC+Classic] Safer Hacking

Description
Tired of spending a precious turn just to give a Sectopod better aim?
Is getting a few turns of disorient not really worth the prospect of permanently buffing all the enemies on the map?

This mod reduces the penalties for failing hack attempts.

For lampposts:
A failed hack will usually just break squad concealment. Some lampposts will still have 'Map Alert' which draws in nearby pods.

For Haywire:
Failing has no adverse effects, besides losing concealment and wasting the ability.

The Skulljack feedback damage isn't changed since it seems reasonable and the trooper still dies.

This mod does not alter the rewards, reward chances or anything else. It does not override any classes and should be compatible with just about anything.

Does not work for me. No other hack mods active. Since now only Hack Plus works for me. But it was deactivated for test this mod.

Thank you. Vanilla hacking is pretty much useless without this.

Spineking, I agree when you play low difficulty but in LIM, you are just obliged to refrain using hack AT ALL because it's too dangerous, so a whole class becomes useless, that's sad for the diversity of the game. See you have a skill that is supposed to help you, but if you use it, you get killed. WTF? A skill is supposed to give some help sometimes somewhere.

Im not sure if i should download this... I mean... It just feels right to get fucked over by a sectopod when you try to be a smartass and take the 49 % chance control hacks... It also feels far more satisfying when you succesfully hack because you gave the supercharge penalty a finger to the face and become god for 3 turns

Thanks! I ended up leaving it on because it wasn't crashing the game and it does indeed appear to work with War of the Chosen :) If you ever have the time or inclination to mess with the War of the Chosen SDK, you can probably just recompile it just to get rid of the warning, but I've had no issues with it so far.

FYI this mod still works even in WOTC. It was my first mod, made for the first version of the game, and apparently so stupidly simple that it has never been broken.

Do we know if the mod-maker for this mod is still active of if the mod still works with War of the Chosen?
