Soldier Fatigue [Outdated]

Description
ATTENTION!

I am no longer maintaining this mod. The ever-magnificent Numbers is running an improved fork of this project which you should run instead. Link: Soldier Fatigue Updated

You may also want to check out Long War 2 by Pavonis Interactive on the off-chance that you haven't already. In addition to being an excellent overhaul of the base game, the Infiltration system achieves the same effect as fatigue in a much more elegant manner.

I'm leaving the file up in case anyone wants to dig through my old code for whatever reason.

Liberating the planet is hard work, after all!

Introduces a new mechanic similar to the one seen in Long War into XCOM 2: Fatigue.

With this mod, soldiers will suffer from fatigue after returning from a mission, requiring them to rest for several days. Although they can still perform duties aboard the Avenger, deploying a fatigued soldier back into action before they've rested will result in them receiving fatigue injuries.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ!
This mod is balanced around wound recovery and mission timespans on the Legendary difficulty.

If you plan to play on a difficulty below Legendary, it is strongly advised you install a mod that increases campaign length and wound times accordingly.

(I recommend my own Longer Campaign mod if you have no preference.)

F.A.Q.
Q: How long does fatigue last by default?
A: Default fatigue times are around 8-9 days per mission.

Q: Can I change that value?
A: Yup! Fatigue times can be altered via "XComSoldier_Fatigue.ini" in the mod's /config/ folder.

Q: What happens when a soldier is injured then?
A: Rested troops that are wounded during deployment will not be inflicted with fatigue. Haven't they suffered enough already, Commander?

Q: What if a fatigued soldier is wounded during a mission?
A: Fatigue-related injures can exacerbate normal wounds, further extending recovery time.

Q: Can I load this into an existing save file?
A: Yes, this can load into an existing save. However, I highly advise against doing so for balancing reasons.

Q: I didn't like fatigue in Long War.
A: That's not a question. Why are you even here? Shoo.

Compatability
Classes this mod overrides: None. Hooray!

DISLAIMER
This mod is in Beta. It's fully functional, but expect things to be rough around the edges. If you find issues, please let me know in the feedback discussion so I can fix them.

Known Issues
  • The Long War Leader Pack causes visual bugs with fatigue status text on the squad select screen. I've temporarily disabled the warning text on unit loadout boxes until I can find a fix for this.
  • Fatigue status text for an individual unit on the squad select screen may linger until a new unit is selected when removing a soldier from the active squad.

To-Do
  • Inegrate fatigue into the UISoldierHeader panel.
  • Build systems for more granular fatigue.

Hiya everyone! Sorry for the radio silence and lack of updates. The past year's been insane for me. Either way I'm back and plan to begin supporting many of my projects again in the coming days.

However, I do not plan on updating this particular project. The magnificent Numbers has made a fork of the project you all should be using instead (link in the description) and on top of that Long War 2's Infiltration system accomplishes the same effect as this in a much more elegant way.

No, EVERY single troop who had been fielded became injured during a few days of scanning and no missions. Very reproducible.

This updated version from "Numbers" has fixed it.

@necro55: If they still were fatigued when they did go on the mission, everything's working as intended by them being injured afterwards.

This one bugged out on me too, I will try the new one by Numbers and hope it works as intended. Game still functioned, but about 1-2 game days after a missions, everyone who was on the mission started showing up as injured, even after a flawless victory.
I will post there with my testing results.

Looks like the mod is dropped in the focus of the modmaker ? No response from the Maker since several month? I like the idea of the fatigue. I checked the newer version from Numbers link, but there at present (jan2017) the maker has to fight against more faults and glitches with LW 2 or 6 slots so far as I understood. Looks like I use this mod only for simulated rotation of the rooster. Mod ist working but with no penalies for the fatigued soldiers.... sad.

They both use screen listeners. The alternate mod launcher should specify with a little asterisk that they don't actually conflict. It just means that it might take a little longer to load the AfterAction UI screen.

the alt mod launcher says this mod and LW toolbox conflict on the UIAfterAction, but in all my playing it's never been a crashing conflict. any reason for that?

That'll fix it.
