The Great Bunny Hunt! (A Skyrim Encounters and Themes Mod)

Description
Calling all hunters: Skyrim is being invaded! Only you can defeat invading hordes!
No, it's not the dragon invaders. It's worse: Rabbits--many, many rabbits. Seriously! They're breeding like--well, rabbits! They're boldly bouncing into farmer's fields and eating all the cabbages, and such. Skyrim's citizens will starve if you don't use your bow, axe, spells or other weapons to save the day. To collect your reward, just kill rascally rodents, loot the rabbit pelts from them (which are added by this mod) and sell them to traders, fletchers or hunters. Or if you like, let the bunnies be, and let Skyrim be filled with the colorful creatures.

WHO THIS MOD IS FOR

❖ Easter Holiday Theme Lovers
If you're looking for something to enhance the holiday, this mod adds more color to the Skyrim wilderness. In addition to the normal Brown Bunnies of the vanilla game, there are now Gray-Hared Hares, Fair White Hares and Black Jack Rabbits. The rabbits and foxes of the game now have a script that spawns more rabbits when they initially load.

❖ Happy Hare Hunters
If you're up for the challenge, this mod increased the number of rabbits you may hunt. Existing rabbits in the game now have scripts, which spawn more rabbits. Use your bows, axes, spells or other weapons to slay the prey. The kind of rabbits spawned depends on the location. Snowy areas spawn mostly grey and white rabbits. Locations with less snow spawn more brown and black rabbits, but also grey rabbits. The number spawned depends on your level:

Player Level | Number of Additional Rabbits Spawned

1 - 6 | 1
7 - 12 | 1 - 2
13 - 18 | 1 - 3
19 - 24 | 2 - 3
25 - 30 | 2 - 4
31 - 36 | 3 - 5
37 - 42 | 3 - 6
43 - 48 | 4 - 7
49 - 54 | 4 - 9
55 - 60 | 5 - 10
61+ | 5 - 11

❖ Pelt Profit Seekers
This mod adds pelts to each rabbit, which you can use to make leather for crafting armor, or may sell for a profit. The pelts are at least as valuable as bear pelts. The base value of each pelt:

Pelt Name | Base Value

Brown Bunny Pelt | 50 (same as a Cave Bear Pelt)
Gray-Haired Hare Pelt | 75 (same as a Snow Bear Pelt)
Black Jack Rabbit Pelt | 100
Fair White Rabbit Pelt | 125

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q. Is this mod just for Easter?
A. No. It's useful for adding more variety to the wildlife of Skyrim, for hunters who like a challenge, or for players who want to make some money from hunting rabbits.

Q. What variety of wildlife does it add?
A. Besides the normal brown rabbits, it also adds black, grey and white rabbits.

Q. How will it make hunting better?
A. It adds more rabbits to the game, so it's a challenge to hunt them all. The higher your level, the more rabbits will spawn.

Q. How can I make a profit from hunting the rabbits?
A. The Jarls of Skyrim are rewarding hunters. Each rabbit pelt is worth at least as much as a cave bear pelt. Pelts for the rarer Black Jack Rabbit and Fair White Hare pelts are worth even more.

Q. How rare are the black rabbits and white rabbits?
A. In snowy locations, you will see twice as many grey rabbits, as you do white ones. Even rarer in snowy areas will be brown and black rabbits. In locations that aren't snowy, you will see about twice as many brown and grey rabbits than you do black ones. Even rarer will be white rabbits in these locations with little snow.

Q. Who may I sell the pelts to?
A. Fletchers (like the Wood Elf at the Drunken Huntsman, in Whiterun), hunters you meet in the wilderness, and traders who own shops in the towns.

Q. Does the mod change existing rabbits in the game?
A. Yes. It gives them grey hair, so they don't look out of place in snowy areas. They will still spawn brown bunnies in areas with less snow.

Q. Does it change anything else?
A. Yes, it changes two leveled lists--the ones that spawn rabbits and foxes only. It also adds a script to rabbits, foxes and snow foxes, which spawns random numbers of rabbits of different types when those creatures initialize. In addition, animal hides and animal parts are added to the list of things fletchers will purchase, so they will buy the pelts from you.

Q. What else does the mod add?
A. It adds the ability to make leather from rabbit hides at any tanning rack, if you aren't interested in selling them.

Q. I've subscribed. Why am I still seeing only brown rabbits?
A. Kill a brown rabbit and activate it. If it is named Rabbit, but not "Brown Bunny," then this mod has not loaded successfully. Try restarting Skyrim.

Q. I've subscribed and I'm seeing the new rabbits. But why am I not seeing many of them?
A. At lower levels, you'll only see one or a few more with each encounter. They often run down different bunny trails and in different directions, so they won't always be seen together. Also rabbits who have already spawned before adding the mod won't spawn more. So kill any you see. Next time they spawn they should spawn more. It might also help to try traveling to places you haven't been, recently.

Q. What will happen if I unsubscribe?
A. The rabbits of the existing game will turn back into brown rabbits. The new black, grey and white rabbits will disappear. Any rabbit pelts you have collected or sold will also disappear. Leather you have crafted from the pelts and gold you've made from selling them will remain. Fletchers will no longer buy animal hides or animal parts.

This ACTUALLY killed my game. Kept crashing to desktop or straight up freezing. Tried a new game but everytime the cart ran over a bunny, it froze for a couple of seconds over and over till it hard froze my game. Too intensive.

The rabbits broke the new game thing by littering the prisoners wagon path route to helgen and making the wagons fly over all over the place

cute but the game crashing in the mountains kills its for me plus makes it impossible to even start a new toon.

This mod is really funny to me because I hit what I assume is a glitch in the mountains that i found the bunny spawn point and was confronted with hundreds of adorable yet game crashing bunnies. They didn't attempt to run from me like normal buns they just sat around happily as the trolls mashed their way through them. I was laughing really hard but sadly I will have to unsubscribe because of game crashing bunnies

i don't see rabbitss

I don't know if it was this in combination with some other "plenty of animals to hunt" kind of mod, but I activated this one and wow, the area around Whiterun was just awash in rabbits, it was funny kind of because there was some saber cat trying to get to me and he couldn't because he was just continuously tripping over bunnies. I tried to save and quit to disable the mod and the save was corrupted and it's just...don't be me, make sure to try it on a fresh save so you can go to the one before that if it all goes nuts. Rabbits were raining from the sky.
