I've found that if you subscribe via steam workshop directly you won't get database changes in you 'editor data' folder, so you won't be able to add them to your new save. Below is what works for me.
1. Load FM16
2. Go to 'Downloads'
3. Go to 'Steam Workshop'
4. Go to 'Download add-ons directly from Steam' it will then load the Steam Workshop for FM16
5. Go to 'Browse' and the 'Collections' and find my collection.
6. If you have already subscribed to the Team/s you want you will have to unsubcribe first. Then 'Subcribe' again.
7. Once this is done use 'Shift and Tab' to come out of Steam Workshop.
8. You should now see the players in the 'INSTALLED ADD-ONS'
9. Now start a new game and you done.
