[Outdated] Cooking Trait

Description
Note: This mod is now outdated as the hobby "Cook" now exists in the base game.

This is a simple mod that adds a “Home Cook” trait, granting the player a one level head start in the cooking skill and unlocking a number of recipes.

Since Project Zomboid already has “hobby like” traits for quite a few of the more important skills, it seems only natural that non-professional cooking should be included. Especially for someone like me who seems to have a love affair with the carpentry profession, that lack of non-career cooking was pretty annoying.

To any of you who might feel the same, I hope you enjoy this tiny addition.

Note - to any of you wondering why I chose to make this a 3 point trait instead of a 4 point trait like most of the other skill-based traits, I had a few reasons:

1. The other 4 point traits, like gardener and angler, are still worth it at 4 points because things like fishing or farming are things you build a character around. There's a good reason I've never thought to stick First Aider on my character, and while cooking is a more useful skill than first aid in my opinion, cooking is a supplemental skill in a number of ways. If First Aider or Baseball Player were 3 points, I might consider - well, I guess I still wouldn't use them - but you get my point.

2. I feel like the game needs to either have more odd number point values or stick with only even ones. Having just a few makes it clunky and unpleasant to deal with that exta point that pops up every now and then in character creation. Having something moderately useful to try and spend it on is something I welcome.

3. Going off the previous point, a 3 point trait fits in better with my modified trait costs that include a lot more odd point values.

4. Logically, more people are likely to be experienced with cooking than any of the other 4 point hobbies.

There is already a cooking trait and this one bugs out on respawn and makes you not enable to pick a job.

It is not. Therefor I am quite certain your perk basically overrides the other.^^
Its not a big thing, maybe you could just add it to the description and leave it at that.
6 points for "cook" was never worth it anyway and I would have used your little mod earlier, yet I was never really that much into the workshop, until MP enabled me and my wife to play together.

It shouldn't disable anything, but this is about 6 years old so there's a chance something strange happened since then. Is the standard cook still missing if you uninstall this?

Does this mod remove the standard "cook"? The trait seems missing now. Generelly speaking: This is a good addition and I never really understood, why especially cooking seems a little underplayed and undervalued traitwise.

Could I suggest a trait that's, like this, sort of between existing traits? Maybe a "sneaky" trait to grant lightfooted points without choosing the burglar profession. Another idea is nyctophobia, also known as a fear of the dark, to cause panic during the night or when in the dark, but I could see that one being way harder to implement.

i posted the same comments on other people working with traits aswell. i hope i can see atleast the vegan and/or vegetarian trait in the future

Some of those suggestions involve working with things not already easy to work with when building traits - while I'm sure it would be possible to add them, it would be somewhat likely that it would be a more in-depth process. Since I'm pretty inexperienced with PZ modding (especially now that I've forgotten most of the little I learned to make this) I doubt I'd be able to be of much help. Thank you for the ideas though - hopefully someone more capable will take a crack at them!

Latrofobic (Strong panic when other people perform medical checks on you and heal you) Farmakofobic (Taking pills takes 3 times more time) Hoplofobic (Cannot use firearms/Very unaccurate and slow reloading. Extreme panic when people point at you with a gun) Traumatized (Hes/shes life was not very bright before the zombies came. Loses happiness slowly all the time) Latiophobic (Cannot speak) Ligyrofobic (Slight panic when hearing loud noises)
