Training Roulette

Description
Training Roulette

What is training roulette?
Training roulette was an option in EU where soldiers could receive random perks, instead of the ones from the original skill tree.

Does this mod work with mod-added classes?
Yes, the possible skills are based on that classes' primary and secondary weapon.

Compatibility
No mod class overrides here, so no notable mod conflicts.

How is this different from your highlander mod?
A highlander mod, inevitably, has a more streamlined implementation,
meaning marginally better performance and more features.
Notably, the highlander allows randomized primary/secondary weapon combinations.
I recommend using the highlander if you have the patience to tinker with the INI file in the highlander. It's definitely what I would use.

What's up with GTS class perks?
This mod disables the class requirements for class perks like deadshot and hunter's instinct.
The reason is because this mod converts your vanilla classes into "roulette" classes. Each roulette soldier is in fact a new and unique class, and not a ranger or a sharpshooter or etc. If my mod didn't do this, those perks would become inaccessible.

Crashes my game as soon as I add it to the mod list.

Does this work with ability resource packs such as Favid's Perk Pack that add abilities to the game but not to any particular class, normally requiring a modder to manually tag each of the 45 or so abilities.

Does this mod mess with psi soldiers at all? I can't seem to promote my mind boys.

Ya was coming back to play some WOTC but was really hoping for this mod to be compatible. Hope it get's updated because it was always one of my favorites.

Oh good. I had trouble finding something like this. I loved the semi-randomized nature of the first game's Second Wave option (I think the first and second skills were always class-related to avoid conflicts or odd effects, though) and I really wanted it in the second game, but realized it wasn't available.

Hope this still works for Vanilla and I really hope you or someone else decide to update it for WotC. Fortunately, I don't have that yet, so I should be fine.

Again, thanks for making this. It's greatly appreciated.

With Wotc the the Game won't start. I think the mod break the Game.
i hope the mod becomes an update.

Out of curiousity, is there a semi-painless way to disable the functionality that auto-assigns the AWC perks? I would like to put together a custom setup that blurs the line between preset and random.

For example, I would make it so that certain Ranger perks would be able to cross over to the Grenadier tree, but would never come up as an option to a Sharpshooter. To do that I would need to have complete control over which perks get assigned to a given category, which has me rather stuck at the moment.

It has to be a new campaign.

@Xzerox I happened to modify it but i haven't seen a change in the skill tree system, will it update only after a level-up or with a new campaign.

@GrimyBunyip have you perhaps considered adding all GTS class perks to all roulete soldiers so that this mod balances itself out on legendary?, maybe another version just for that. I think the only op ones to have on all soldiers would be deadshot and cool under pressure (because reaction fire on everyone). I think having using this mod like that would be quite interesting in LW2 since the campaign lasts so long.
Either way thx for the great mod, i still can't believe most of my surviving troops have pistols lol.
