Lindworm Class Battlecruiser

Description
When prototypes of the Leviathan Mk II were loaned out to allied powers, the responses were rather negative. "It's too weak." and "It cant stand up to a real battle." were among the reports. Irritated by this, Nemo said "Fine, they shall have their fancy little ship and it will do as they please. I never had the problems they speak of, but then again, I'm no coward."

Large sections of the armor belt were reinforced with solid metal to provide extra strength. The move to heavier metal from alloy resulted in an overal cost-reduction. To provide more power, two of the simpler Hyena engines replaced the previous engines. Shielding was improved thanks to the available 11k power. Two AA turrets were removed to make room for future improvements of the secondary batteries.

The main batteries are a menacing 333mm, with 160mm secondaries and 40mm AA batteries. Two triple-tube torpedo launchers are mounted at the back of the ship, along with a compliment of 16 anti-ship missiles. For defense, several smoke dispensers and missile interceptors have been fitted.

Testing shows the Lindworm capable of handing all but the toughest opponents. A proposal for switching to quad 201mm guns has been made, and preliminary testing shows promise.

As it stands, the Lindworm is rather small for a battlecruiser. It was designed to provide heavy artillery fire against large targets, and fares best when supported by destroyers, cruisers, or aircraft. Armoring is sufficient for its size, layered to shrug off missiles, EMP, bombs, and torpedoes. Significant shielding provides defense against enemy artillery. 209m long and under 3mil RP, the Lindworm is the pride of the fleet, and ship of choice for Nemo.

Amazing battleship. Tested it against my Paladin heavy cruiser and the battle was a tie. Both ended up blowing each other in half. This thing is gonna be super useful in campaign mode for clearing up the OW.

There's a blueprint tool on the forums some guy is making... The last patch broke it but it does have a function to search by part type, meaning a few clicks and you could strip any hull clean from engines, turrets, etc... Right now I think the only part that works is mass paint changing.

Against 90% of the campaign designs, it wins. But people on the forums tend to think if it cant beat every "Godly difficulty" design, it must suck. So the WF judgement with it's totally not WF fighting style will win every time.

I didn't think the Leviathan was weak :P But it's nice to know that the shielding has improved.
