Custom Tarokka Deck for Ravenloft

Description
Introduction

The Vistana's eyes were closed as the mud-crusted band of adventurers awkwardly filed into her tent. On the table before her lay a deck of cards, all face down in a pile. Save for four: the masters of swords, coins, stars, and glyphs. Suddenly the woman's eyes opened.

"I've been expecting you..."

Tarokka decks are sets of fortune-telling cards for the D&D setting of Ravenloft, meant to add to the flavor of Ravenloft's gothic horror atmosphere. They typically contain 54 cards, 10 each for the suits of Swords, Coins, Stars, and Glyphs plus 14 of the Fortuna Magna.

Each card is lovingly hand-drawn and hatefully hand-lettered, then colored digitally to appear authentic. I attempted to capture the style of cards used by Mme Lenormand[en.wikipedia.org], a famous French cartomancer. This particular set deviates heavily from naming conventions as well as imagery of official D&D merchandise, though the underlying symbology remains the same. Even then, DMs are encouraged to interpret the cards as they want or need even by the source material. Lastly, the 12 of the Fortuna Magna contain face cards that feature the likenesses of dread persons in the Realm of Mists. Details as to whom will be hidden below, as these are major spoilers for players.
