Music Planner

Description
Music Planner
This is a simple yet detailed tool which shows which tracks play during waves or trader. It also shows play count across all vanilla maps, tracks that are used in KFO maps, and missing OGG files. You can use this to easily and quickly plan a smart soundtrack that will play action music during waves and ambient music during trader.

This tool was created in Microsoft Office Excel and 3 versions of the worksheet are provided for compatibility.

This contains three days worth of work, I double-checked and triple-checked for errors. I'm certain there are no errors but if you see a mislabeled track, please let me know in the comments below and I'll update the download. Thank you for checking this out!

Files
  • KF-Music.xlsx
  • KF-Music.xls
  • KF-Music.pdf

If the link is down, please comment and I will fix it.

Installation:
Click subscribe and start Killing Floor, wait at the main menu and let it download. Then close the game and go to your Killing Floor directory, look for a folder called Music and open it. There should be a zip file inside called "Music Planner.zip", extract and open using whatever excel program you have.

If that doesn't work, use the download link above.

I *might* have foud out which map uses thos three files - the pridehill shopping mall map: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=98164398 ....but the the uploader of the fairy tail music replacer must have replaced all these on his own workshop....so I've siffed through it all and yeah, this seems to be the case....:witch:

Can you include the official maps that use these on another column? So we can cross reference which maps use them and which don't by default? Like for example, in the first row with DirgeDefective1 as the file name, you might have KF-WestLondon, KF-Office, KF-BioticsLab, etc, in a column next to the number of maps that use the song/music file...

Fancy "KF_6_TakeThat" isn't used in any map but is downloaded from a default installation of KF....anyways....

This planner covers all official maps only. Every map has a static playlist predefined by the author. So, if you include KFPrideHill, none of the official maps will play it except a map that specifically uses them as defined by the map's playlist; meaning a custom map. But I do not know which custom map uses them, sorry. Hope this helps.

Ooh. So these songs/music are just only for the dafault/official maps we're provided? So for those that are missing those other non-existent .ogg files, only they will play them and no other defualt maps or do they all also get to play the track too? And which maps are these by the way so I can visualize which maps use those non-existent .ogg files?

The base game doesn't use those tracks anywhere so they're probably custom tracks implemented by the mod author. As long as he didn't compress the tracks inside his map file then they should be replaceable in the same way as the vanilla tracks.

I've seen some music mods where they have these additional files which you have omitted: KFPrideHill1.ogg, KFPrideHill2.ogg and KFPrideHill3.ogg - do they play as well or were they just accidentally added by the author of the mod?

No, it isn't used by the game so it won't affect anything.
