Description
Rome 2's global bonuses for controlling resources inspired me to make this. This mod changes the resources for all 3 campaigns. It adds a global bonus on top of the local effects it has. I'll put the global effects below.

This mod was never intended to be be 100% balanced. It was made for me and a few friends. While none of the resources are OP, they are strong. obviously owning more than one of them will have a larger impact. Depending on your point of view, this may or may not be good. It does buff larger empires.(espeically those that upgrade the resources.) I will admit some of these are probably a tad to strong. some of these may be dialed back a bit depending on how it plays out.

Let me know your thoughts. If you have a question, let me know.

This does make them more worthwhile to get. Trade resources lose some or most of their value when you can not trade them. By making them have a larger impact, it will make them something to go after, even if you can not trade.

Some of the bonuses were based off what the buildings currently do in vannila. Some were logically connected to the resource. and some were just good bonuses i wanted to make use of, even if their connection to the resource isnt the best.

As to what they currently do. Different tiers provide different bonuses. Some only effect provinces while some effect every region IN a province.

edit, i have done like 10-15 campaigns since i made this. i should of changed this bit a long time ago. still feel free to leave your input :)

Bonus per tier. ex 1/3/7/10 so tier two will have +3 of that bonus. if there are 2 chains for a resource, the one that provides less trade goods will be the 2nd one listed. the one that provindes less trade goods will be given more of the bonus effect.

Wine. Public order + 1/2/3/4 1/2/4/8 AoC 3/6/9

Silk tax %.(province) 3/7/10/15

Marble religion+ (regions) 1/2/3/4 1/2/4/8 AoC 2/4/6

Timber, naval movemnt range %. AoC also has naval commerce per region (navy)5/10/15/20 (commerce)10/20/30 AoC 5/10/15 10/20/30

dyes global growth+(province) global increase in industry income %(region) 10/20/30/40 5/10/15/20

furs resistance to occupation % -20/-40/-60/-80(regions) corruption reduction % 3/7/10/15(province)

gold was left unchanged except for the industry chain. it was slightly buffed by reducing the negative PO and squalor and increasing the money generated. It is now worth upgrading if you do not own gems imo.

iron global construction cost reduction %.(regions) -5/-10/-15/-20 -5/-15/-22/-30 AoC -5/-10/-15

lead, global sanitation+(per region) AoC provinces growth+ 1/2/3/4 AoC 2/3/4 (growth) 3/7/10

Spices, naval commerce(region)% 5/10/15/20

Olives, food+ (region) UPDATED 6/12/18/24 AoC 8/16/24

Salt Increase in income from agg buildings %(region) fertility +(province) 5/10/15/20 Edited fertility, SEE BELOW, AoC 5/10/15 0/1/2

salt now provides fertility only in the province it is in until level 3. it then provides a global bonus,

so level 1 provides: 1 fertility, level 2: 2 fertility, level 3: 1 global and 1 local, and level 4:1 local and 2 global. this is the same in the grand campaign and Beli.

gems increase in commerce(region)% 5/9/12/15

cloth tax rate(province)% 3/7/10

Copper army maintenance% (all armies) -3/-7/-10

a province has 3 territories(referred to as regions) inside of it in attila. You assign governors to a province, you station troops in a region.

tf is every region in a province...

thanks. I wish CA would do something like the above for their future games. Even if hte bonuses were not as same/strong as mine above, i think it would be an improvement. I like fighting over important parts of the map, and having these bonuses makes the regions containing them worth fighting over.

Good Mod - Thanks - Shogun 2 made resources items to go to war over - fun stuff - CA seems to think Frustration is enterinang - I dont think the designers play their games and nerfs

Sounds okey. In my mind you really dont have to worry about nerfing olives too much because. Their effect rises quite expotentially just having 2 olive places will make huge amounts food because commericial buildings are so common.

With a little effort you will get to my level quickly :)

as for that mod. i dont think i will be of much help. I dont use that mod, or the other mods it is trying to be compat with, and i dont realy have the time to spare right now to look into it.

eh, i am ok. certainly better modders out there. currently it is just a hobby that i teach myself rather than from any professional back ground. im busy learning about unity.

having people to bounce ideas off of, test stuff, or even help make mods is always great. they save time, think of things you dont, or find stuff you didn't see.

as for that mod. i dont know much about animations or unit formations. what is wrong with the mod? i see some comments about needing updating.

as for making a mod. a lot of stuff can be done with the packfilemanager. you can download others mods and see what they did. usually if you are looking to change something, use your in game knowledge to help. like if you know x gives you y per region, or province wide, you can try taking it and playing with it. a lot of mods are simple. some stuff you will have to do a lot of hunting to find. the lack of a search function doesnt help either.
