One Deck Dungeon & Forest of Shadows

Description
One Deck Dungeon is a cooperative dungeon crawler puzzle game for one, two or four players.

The game is created by Asmadi Games: http://asmadigames.com

The official rules can be found here: http://www.onedeckdungeon.com/faq.php

The workshop is set up for two players. When playing solo, simply flip over the Level and Hero tiles. When playing with four, leave the Hero tiles on the two player side, and replace the Turn Reference, Stairs and Level tiles with the four player variants found north of the table. Don't forget to add a second potion when playing with four players.

At the start of the game, each player chooses a Hero and places that Hero tile in their play area. The Hero tiles can be found south of the table. Then, the players together choose a Dungeon to conquer and place that Dungeon card close to the Stairs tile. These Dungeon cards can also be found south of the table.

The players choose between the Healing potion and the Cure potion as their starting potion by flipping the Turn Reference tile, and optionally add another basic potion to the Turn Reference tile. Basic potions can be found north of the table.

Finally, the players choose a deck of encounter cards, which can also be found north of the table, and place the chosen deck on the Stairs tile, covering the image. When playing solo or with two players, choose a deck of 44 cards. When playing with four players, choose a deck of 88 cards.

If the players chose a base game Dungeon, the players should choose either the base game deck, or the mixed deck. If the players chose a Forest of Shadows Dungeon, the players should choose either the Forest of Shadows deck, or the mixed deck. Note that poison works slightly different if you choose the mixed deck, as you do not discard the poison counter on a successful resistance roll.

Each Dungeon consists of four levels. On the first three levels, players combat foes and overcome perils to gain loot. To do this, players roll their dice and try to fill as many boxes as they can manage to prevent the consequences listed in those boxes.

The Dungeon card also shows certain boxes. When combating a foe, the visible boxes on the right hand side of the Dungeon card are added to the boxes on the foe encounter card. When overcoming a peril, the visible boxes on the left hand side of the Dungeon card are added to the chosen box on the peril encounter card. The boxes added to a peril encounter are always considered to be the same color as the chosen peril box.

When the players filled as many boxes as they can manage, they suffer the consequences of the remaining unfilled boxes, and then loot the card. Cards can either be taken as items (providing additional dice and health), skills (allowing dice to be manipulated) or experience (allowing the players to level up). To level up, hold your mouse over the Level tile, and press the number indicating the new level.

Once the players have gone through the deck, they must Descend to the second level. To Descend, hold your mouse over the Dungeon card, and press the number indicating the new level. Each time the players Descend, the Dungeon card gains more abilities and boxes to fill. Note that these are added to the abilities and boxes from the earlier floors, rather than replacing them, effectively making each floor tougher than the previous floor.

After Descending, the discarded encounter cards (but not the encounter cards spent as experience to level up) are gathered, shuffled, and placed back on the Stairs tile to form the deck for the next floor.

When players Descend to the fourth floor, they encounter the Dungeon Boss, which they must fight until either the Dungeon Boss or one of the Heroes is slain. Flip the Stairs tile to find the rules for the Boss Fight. The Dungeon abilities and boxes do not apply to the Boss Fight. When the Boss is slain, the players win the game!

=====

While the rules and gameplay are identical to the physical edition of One Deck Dungeon, some tweaks have been applied to this workshop to make playing the game more convenient in a virtual setup:

- Dungeon cards are split into multi-state cards, with one state per floor. This way, the lower level abilities and boxes are hidden, without having to cover them with another card or tile. The Dungeon Boss is included as the fourth state. This allows all Dungeon cards to have the same back, making it easier to pick a random Dungeon.

- The four level cards are combined into a single multi-state tile, with one state per level. This way, when playing solo, you only need to flip one tile instead of four, with no need to rearrange them. A separate tile has been added with all the correct values for four players.

- The two Turn Reference tiles are combined into a single tile, with the Healing potion on one side, and the Cure potion on the other side. This way, players only need to flip the Turn Reference tile to choose a different starting potion. The Boss Fight rules are moved to the back of the Stairs tile. The four player version of the Stairs tile is moved to a separate tile, and a four player version of the Turn Reference tile has also been included.

- The basic potions and basic skills cards are separated into unique cards for each basic potion and each basic skill. This makes it easier to move these cards and interact with them, especially when using the Snap Cards functionality.

- A mixed deck has been set up in advance, containing all the Portcullis cards from the base game, and all the Leaf cards from the Forest of Shadows expansion, preventing players from having to build this deck manually.

- Decks for four players have been set up in advance as well. The mixed deck simply contains all the cards from both the base game and the Forest of Shadows expansion. The base game deck contains all the cards from the base game, and a second copy of all these cards, with loot swapped between different encounters that are worth the same amount of experience.

- The cubes are replaced by tokens that match the images found on cards. Tokens for time and boss damage have been added, reducing the chance for accidentally mixing up these tokens.

- Optional: Dice automatically rotate to an upright position when rolled or moved, making it easier to place these inside the boxes. This feature can be disabled by disabling the "Rotate Dice" option in the game.

- Optional: Cards automatically snap onto tiles. When placing a card on top of a Hero tile, the Turn Reference tile, or the Level tile, the card will automatically move and rotate into the correct position for an item, a skill, a potion, or experience. On a hero tile, place the card on the top half to place it as an item, or the bottom half to place it as a skill. On the Turn Reference and Level tiles, they are always placed as a potion or experience. This feature can be disabled by disabling the "Snap Cards" option in the game.

Note that the game doesn't check if a card holds a skill or a potion. It's up to the players to not snap a skill onto the Turn Reference tile, or a potion onto a Hero tile. Also, you want to make sure the tiles are far enough away from each other, so cards don't accidentally go on a different tile.

Mechanics. Textures. Updates. Bug Fixing. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Bug Nation attacked. Only the Devs, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I ARE STILL WAITING ON A GOD DAMN FIX FOR THIS SHIT
