By default there is a random chance for "Ball Lightning" (google it).
The ball lightning is a fast moving projectile that does massive amounts of damage to any dino's, players or structures that it may hit.
It is random in the fact that every rain "session" will have lightning, not every session will have ball lightning.
It is also random on it's trajectory so technically it should not hit the same spot twice but it may happen since this Ark after all.
The damage for the ball lightning can be adjusted via the GameUserSettings.ini and can also be turned completely off.(settings listed below)
If you do not adjust the .ini settings and the ball lightning happens to hit your base and kills you, your dino's, + your mom and your sister too as well as taking out half your base and you come cry about it to me I will only laugh and rest easy knowing it is working as intended.

GameUserSettings.ini using default as example. Set to whatever you want:
[Thunderstorm]
BallDMG=2500
DisableAlerts=0
DisableBall=0

If you do not add .ini settings it will use the defaults listed above.
DisableAlerts=1 to disable the Audible/Text alerts
DisableBall=1 to disable the ball lightning completely
