Description
Block Count: 335

Its back, the Moonkiller!! This time its re-loadable, with 10 shots. As you can see from the pics, this thing is huge when fully extended, but still fits in the bounding box in its default setting.
This is an extremely powerful fireball launcher / howitzer / railgun. Named the Moon Killer for its insane range, this machine can shoot from one edge of the map, over the ice-up limit and will actually over-shoot the moon on the Argus ground level.
Like its forebear, this is powerful enough to destroy Ipsilon brick.

This new and improved moonkiller can also tilt back further than its previous model, the tightening arms can also be extended at any angle.

The machine is a bit more involved to use, so please read the instructions carefully.

Thanks to Draegast for showcasing this monster.
Also shown in the Invasion of Iplsilon video by Shadé

How to use:
Select the desired angle for firing by using Q or E. Press R to open the chamber and load a shot, once a fireball is in the chamber, press R again to close it.
Next, extend the machine with O, to tighten the springs, the arms should come together when fully extended.
The machine is now ready to fire, press L to launch the fireball.
To reload, the first step is to press L again, as the springs are set to toggle. You can then draw the firing ballast back in to the barrel with P, this contracts the tightening arms and brings back the ballast block.
VERY IMPORTANT: The firing ballast must be grabbed by the rear grabber attached to the core block, you will hear a grabbing noise when the block is in place. Once the block is in place, you can load another shot and bring the tightening arms back together. You are now ready to fire again :)

Controls:
Arrow keys: movement
Q and E: Raise or lower barrel
O and P: Extend or contract tightening arms
R key: Load the weapon, remember to press R again to close the chamber
L key: Fire
F key: Change view

Tips:
For best results, make sure the fireball is resting against the firing ballast before firing the device.
The accuracy depends on how centered the firing block is on the grabber, usually most shots will land on the topmost horizontal bar when firing (see pics), however accuracy can vary a bit.
If the firing block doesn't go in the barrel just press O to bring the arms forward again, and try again (its rare that it doesn't work).

Please leave an upvote, it really helps, I spent many hours testing and building this. As always, no mods or bsg editing was used. Only the half and quarter block spacing glitches and the fps glitch.

Every shot until the last two are amazing. On the second to last one or two braces snap off, and then the last shot, the springs have a seizure.

you should put it on a rotating base so it is eseyer to aim it back and forth

How on earth did you get those rocks there.......

seem to have figured it out- takes a bit of finagling with the arms to get the ballast to lock back.

Problem's more of not being able to re-tighten without it breaking from springs. And no, I'm testing it in sandbox.

@wapachoo, thanks are you using it in multiverse? I know physics changes a bit there, seems to work fine for me offline?

Still works gloriously for that first shot before everything snaps apart. Guess some stress values changed...

@timothycs, it shouldn't do that so something is going wrong. Once the shot has been fired you have to press L again, as the springs are set to toggle, that loosens the tension on the folding arms. Then you can close the grabber arms and draw the firing block back into the barrel, its like a reverse crossbow. P not only closes the arms, it pulls the ballast block back into the barrel. Then you can load and shoot again :)

i can fire once, but then the braces holding the grabbers just snap when i try to bring the ballast back to reload, am I using it wrong?
